Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
Jackie's plan is based on sound nutritional and fitness premises. However, there seem to be a lot of errors. There are items on her shopping list that are not on the menu, but most importantly her calorie counts are off. In phase one I calculated the daily calories to be 1500, not 950 as she claims. Part of this is due to her over simplification; there is no way to get portions right when all the information given is, for example: "3 small new potatoes" . According to online calorie charts these could be 120 calories each! 6oz of chicken for dinner is 284 calories by itself and is a huge portion. It should probably be a 3oz portion. Typo?
In the workout portion of her plan, she repeats her instructions verbatim several times, but is very sparse with explanations.
In general this is an easy to follow, simplistic plan'. The book should have been proof read a few more times!

I contemplated on buying this book for days. I was a little worried because of the few negative reviews I read beforehand. Now that I'm on day 3 and already down 7 lbs, I figured I HAD to write a review so others know that the people complaining about things like errors in the book are the people that I most despise in this world. Personally, when I read reviews like that, I usually lose hope. Yes, there are errors in the grocery list. So WHAT? If you're old enough to order this book, or even read it for that matter, you should be old enough to edit the errors on your own. You have a 10 day meal plan that is the same for 10 days. How hard is it to just buy your groceries according to the meal plan?? Not hard at all. Bottom line, a few minor errors does not mean the plan doesn't work, because it does. The workouts are as simple, and you literally lose weight per day. For once, I don't think my scale is broken. I love this book and I can't wait to see my results on day 10!
