About the Author

Leslie Beck, a registered dietitian, is a leading nutritionist who has helped over 2000 individuals achieve their nutrition and health goals. She is the bestselling author of Leslie Beck's Nutrition Guide to Menopause, Leslie Beck's 10 Steps to Healthy Eating, Leslie Beck's Nutrition Guide for Women, Leslie Beck's Nutrition Encyclopedia, and Leslie Beck's Nutrition Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy and is a contributing author in Rose Reisman's Sensationally Light Pasta & Grains. Leslie writes a weekly nutrition column in The Globe and Mail, Canada's national newspaper, is the nutrition expert for CTV's Canada AM, and is the host of Discovery Channel's Foodstuff, a daily nutrition program aired nationally. She can also be heard two mornings a week on CFRB's Ted Woloshyn Show. Leslie runs a private practice at the Medcan Clinic in Toronto.

Leslie has worked with many of Canada's leading businesses and international food companies. She regularly delivers nutrition workshops to corporate groups across Canada and the United States. Having a strong interest in sports nutrition, Leslie has acted as nutrition consultant to the Toronto Raptors and has worked with the Canadian International Marathon (1995-1997). She often holds nutrition workshops for Toronto's marathon and running clinics. Leslie keeps fit herself by running, cycling, and weight training.

Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C., Leslie obtained her bachelor of science (dietetics) from the University of British Columbia and proceeded to complete the dietetic internship program at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. She is a member of the Dietitians of Canada, the College of Dietitians of Ontario, and the Consulting Dietitians of Ontario. She lives in Toronto.

As true to form Leslie Beck, RD provides the reader with concise, easy to navigate information on Healthy Eating. Great for the novice, or those who are already informed on the subject. Practical, no-nonsense advise puts the person in the 'drivers seat'. Meal planning charts, recipes and useful information creates motivation, enabling you to stay on course.
Easy to use. A perfect gift for young or older person, students or those setting up an apartment or home for the first time. A must in for any kitchen or home. Well done, Leslie.
