I teach in an urban high school with a low level student population. This series of books (I also have one for Life Science) is great for getting your point across with difficult concepts.

This has excellent reproduceable worksheets. It covers almost all of the topics covered in earth science. It supplies postable answer sheets. The worksheets seem simple but cover some tough concepts in a simple manner. I use it for 9th grade.

This collection of reproducibles is the best example I've seen of meaningful diagram-based worksheets. I've also found books Earth's science reproducibles particularly difficult to find, even in learning and teacher stores.Although mostly simple, these sheets allow you to clearly assess student understandings of concepts like how warm and cold air masses form different types of fronts. Some more in-depth sheets require students to label specific types of clouds along the fronts (nimbostratus, altocumulus). I use this book to provide additional practice for homework assignments and quick formative assessments.
