Despite I had read some reviews about the bad quality and bad plastic look of this netbook, I decided to buy this little purple computer (that color certainly terrible), because I still thought it had USB 3, the fastest Atom N2800 processor and amazing graphics capabilities considering that it was only a netbook.
The machine arrived not well assembled, but I preferred not to fix it. Anyway, I could live with that if the full computer was working. The speed was amazing, even with the 1 GB of memory. But when I tested the web cam it was impossible to make it work; it simply was dead since Windows Manager didn't have it on its list. I moved the camera switch many times, and reinstalled the web cam driver and tested its web cam software along with Skype: nothing worked of course because it was dead.
Very disappointed then with Asus, due to its lack of quality control. I returned immediately to Amazon. And then, because I still wanted to have a netbook with similar features, I went to a computer store and bought the Asus 1025C. Another problem: the six cell battery life was so short, only between 3 and 4 hours in contrast with the 12 hours Asus says it has on its web site, so I had to return it immediately.
At the end, I decided to buy another high quality Acer Aspire One, the AOD270 model, N2600 processor. It was simply great! Excellent graphic capabilities, and much faster than my first netbook I already had, the model AOD260, which was slow, especially when watching videos, but it never gave me any single problem and looks solid and attractive, with every feature always working. I immediately bought 2 GB for my new Acer Aspire One AOD270 and installed it.

Poor quality for the price. First 2 USB ports went, then the sound card, making it useless for watching movies and such. Cannot upgrade the memory without breaking the warranty (unlike the cheaper model).

What I look for shopping for a PC is NOT the name of a PC, laptop, netbook, etc., but the "guts" of it ANNNNNDDDDDD if the SHIFT key on the left hand side is the big-sized one or little-sized one where I hit the "|" instead! hahaha
I LOVE to have a big SHIFT key on the left because my software that I use, it has a duo keyboard command ability, so the SHIFT key is important.

ANYWAY, for what I bought this little guy for, it is super! Lightweight, travelling with it is a snap, keyboard feel is so great and easy to type (no extra keyboard req'd) - Asus put together a great little notebook, with nice dual core and GBs! I love the purple! I bought it for travelling around with my Blackberry Playbook, instead of carrying one big, heaving laptop!! Also, easier to look things up when watching TV - light, small, portable and easy to type and handle.

I def would recommend to a friend! In fact, I'm thinking of buying another to stock up!

This is one elegant-looking piece of equipment - girls take notice! Color scheme of the case, a contrasting key-board, chromed sides... Definately, an eye catcher. Designers had a taste. I couldn't drive my young children away from it as they were attracted to this little cutie like a magnet. The machine is put together well. Has 3 USB ports, 1 card reader, 1 RJ-45 (for Ethernet cable), 1 HDMI. Comes with few pre-installed accessories. Everything that I tried worked. Wireless worked well taking under a minute to set-up and connect. Has a little webcam built it - it has a nice zoom-in feature (4-x zoom). Has an "instant-on" - a feature which will put it back into operation in couple seconds after you turn it on (basicaly, an advanced hybernation mode instead of complete shut-off) - very handy. Overall, a wonderful piece of equipment for light computing tasks.

One big drawback - 1Gig of RAM memory. Definately not enough if you want to go beyong playing music on it or browsing internet (or mean to open multiple internet pages at the same time). It will become slow with a delayed response if you throw at it any big piece of software such as MS Office suite. I found out that it is possible to upgrade it to 2Gig DDR3 memory (RAM). But to accomplish that you'd have to take it apart - and I mean it: unscrew the case, remove keyboard, hard-drive, motherboard and replace the memory stick. This is not complicated but neither it is trivial and probably not for the faint of heart.

Another drawback is that there are no external controls for audio-playback (aka. no buttons) - if you want to increase/decrease volume of a playback you have to flip it open and do it either from within the software environment or by pressing Fn plus one of the F-buttons.

I love this product, it is lightweight with the basic programs already set-up which was great as I am not computer savvy and I would have needed a computer expert.

Amazon was amazing on the delivery as it came within one month.

Great product.
