Product Description

The all-new 2nd generation Anker Astro3 recasts the possibilities of mobile power.

PowerIQ: Compatibility maximized.
Not all charging ports are created equal. Standard ports only communicate effectively with particular devices, like Apple OR Android, often limiting their recharge rate. But with PowerIQ technology, each port intelligently identifies your device to speak its unique charging language. So plug in any brand or model and enjoy compatibility that doesn't limit your charging speed.

Packed with power.
We figure, the more power, the better. Packed with 12000mAh of juice, and featuring an energy efficiency rate 10% above previous generation Astros and many current standard alternatives, the new Astro3 charges the iPhone six times and large-capacity phones like the Galaxy S4 almost four times.

Double take.
Chic and minimalistic, the new Astro3 may feel reserved at first. But, a friendly "shake" reveals its warm inner light to display the power level or begin your charge. Generous, cool, and delightfully intuitive, the new Astro3 is perfect for your next adventure, or just the daily grind.

For optimal use.
• Please use the included cable(s), your device's original cable or a third-party certified one (such as MFi).
• Compatible with all Apple and Android smartphones, tablets (including the Nexus 7) and other USB-charged devices. The iPod nano, iPod Classic, HP TouchPad, LG G2, Asus tablets and some GPS and Bluetooth devices are not supported.
• The included Micro USB cable is compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S5, Note 3 and other Micro USB 3.0 devices. To connect, insert the cable's Micro USB tip into the larger of the two connection ports on your device.

The battery is compact and a bit heavy. It does the job of charging my phone on the go for the 3 hours i travel.
The build is sturdy and feels like premium materials. Although the matte finish is gorgeous looking, its a fingerprint magnet! Thankfully they include an perforated travel pouch that keeps the Anker safe and fingerprint free. And yes you can see the illuminated LED dial through the pouch quite clearly.
The "SMART" USB feature charges up my phone super fast! with (5V / 2.4A max) of charging power
Ankers LED light ring is a genius touch. The indicators for "battery percentage" and "charging" are simple and straightforward which can easily be activated by a little shake... yes I said "shake". there are no physical buttons on this device but a simple motion sensor that will activate the LED and the implied function.
Overall i'm quite happy with the purchase and the product. its sleek, modern and will power all the USB devices.

This was my first Anker product and I was impressed by the build quality. I had never heard of them so took a chance and I'm glad I did.

It has lots of capacity for charging phones and tablets. I used it to go cross country with my Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7. It charged both as fast as a wall adapter would and had no problem keeping both charged for my airport layovers and delays. No more hunting around in the airport for a wall socket.

The design of this thing is awesome. A very simple and clean look. It's pretty bulky, so you're going to want to keep in in a large pocket (think cargo shorts, large coat) or in a bag (messenger bag, purse, etc.). If you want something smaller, you need to get one with less capacity (less mAh).

I've used it a couple times since I got it 3 weeks ago and I was very happy to have it around. My phone's battery is on its way out, so this helps when I'm away from a plug for too long, but it should also come in handy when travelling. Essentially, it works exactly as advertised. Just remember that there is some energy loss when going from the power bank to your device, so the 12,000 mAh ends up being about 10,000 mAh, which is still a ton.

CONS: It only comes with a cable (no wall socket power adapter), but you probably already have one with your phone/tablet. It comes with a VERY tight fitting protective cloth case and it is somewhat difficult to use, however you can just leave it in the cloth case permanently to protect it and you can still see the power LED through the cloth case. Finally, the USB sockets/cable fit together very tightly as well and it takes a little force to plug/unplug, but this may also be a good thing since a tight connection would hold up better if it were bouncing round in a bag. All in all, the cons really aren't that bad.

Bought this for a few nights of tent camping. I've tested it out with iPod touch, iPad and iPhone. Charges the touch about 10 times or iPad twice or iphone maybe 3 times I'd estimate. It takes a while to recharge (overnight at least) but it's fantastic. Does what you need it to do well. As a bonus, it uses a micro USB charger for charging itself...which many other electronics I have use anyway. I might buy one more...we have a lot of devices in this family.

I had minor issues with this battery which really stemmed from my lack of researching this product. The Anker support staff was amazing and completely resolved my issues. (In fact, Anker staff went far beyond what anyone would consider the responsibility of Anker and their staff)

I'm completely thrilled by this level of support. To the Anker staff members involved, I tip my hat to you all!

I wholeheartedly recommend Anker and their products.

Again, you have gratitude Anker.

This product has no problem charging both my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Blackberry Z10 smartphones at the same time at full speed. The capacity seems adequate based on initial testing.

The built quality is nice, it charges well and is about the size of an external hard drive, so it fits easily in a pocket in my backpack. Anker deserves a 5 star rating for this product. They seem to have created a superior product for less money than some of the competing products I looked at.

This is a God sent at this price. It is a little bit bulky however if your a college student, and your tablet and phone die often and theres no plugin, this is great! I honestly dont even bring wall adapters anymore, I just have a short lightning connector for my ipad mini, and just use the included micro USB to charge my samsung S5. Just throw this in your bag and your good to go! I find that I have to recharge the battery about every 2-4 days depending on my use.

After the first initial charge, this power bank works wonderfully in charging my phone and my tablet. It takes overnight to charge but then it will be able to charge my phone to full multiple times and my Samsung tablet once. So the battery capacity is very good. However, after the initial charge, it will not recharge anymore, I have plugged it in overnight multiple times and it was still not charging. I played with the cable and found out what the problem was: loose connection at the input port. I had to press downwards in order for the power bank to start charging and as soon as I let go, the light will turn off (which indicates that it is not charging). So I am unable to recharge the power bank as I can't constantly push the cable down overnight to let it recharge all the way. It's too bad since I really liked this powerbank for its capacity and sleek design but this problem had made it unusable. Very disappointing since now I am stuck with a broken power bank during my holiday. What a waste of money.
