Providence,RI around February 1965.Basically it was Big Joe w/ the Junior Mance Trio and Ben Webster just happened to be in the club at the time.Reed in mouth,of course. There was hardly anyone there, being bad weather but the sound crew sure did a fantastic job of laying it all down on tape. These recordings are all new, never been released before.

Have A Good Time Listening To This One, Jun 9 2005

What a voice Joe Williams still carries! And Ben Webster fills in nicely with out being intrusive. Williams has a way of vocal styling that's rare to hear these days. Webster's sax is melodic when needed but finds those grooves and lets go. Play this one in your car and you won't worry about being stuck in traffic; you'll hope you don't get home too soon.

Discovered from the Joe Williams estate, this gem is, as Nat Hentoff reviewed, his most favorite Joe Williams CD of all. And to find Joe together with Ben Webster, Junior Mance and Mickey Roker, it brings Joe into the present.
