Good 2010 live show, Dec 30 2010

There were certainly more remarkable shows from the venerable and generous 2010 tour, but this show ranks in the upper MID range. I was a little disappointed in the mixing and Dave's improvisational approaches on some songs, but I can't criticize the performance beyond that. Worth the $20 to add a new live release to your collection. Notable tracks:
Stone opener (voted #1 alltime DMB song - whatever that means - by antsmarching.org)
Warehouse passion intro, OSW with extended instrumental intro
Excellent version of Proudest Monkey with a really nice Tim spot
And by far the #1 track in the set: Squirm.
The rest is nice... ie other new songs, 2step, AATW, but we've heard them before....
On Squirm - Musically distinct. Lyrically intriguing. Great live sound. With all the funny-the-way-it-is-where-are-you-goin-first-take-i-play/sing-is-the-final-cut-i-dont-have-any-motivation-to-actually-work-on-writing-a-song-cookie-cutter efforts Dave has made in the past, many songs have been scrapped or underplayed that had lyrical and musical composition genius written all over them (Falling off the roof, shotgun, the first gravedigger, help myself) it is nice to see that some of the BWGK work was a success (Lying in the hands of god, Squirm, little red bird). Squirm was, in my opinion, a great success in the studio and plays exceptionally well live.
Take away: buy it on amazon for cheap, but don't expect the red rocks '95 release.

Excellent Show, Jun 18 2011

I thought this much like the Live at Wrigley is a very good album. The band is at its best and the part that appeals most is that it includes various "rare" and excellent tracks such as Seek Up or Proudest Monkey. The rendition of The Stone is also great and the energy during Watchtower exceeds expectations. Highly recommend the album!

Great Show for 2010 Tour, May 9 2011

Don't listen to the nay-sayers bashing this show, most of them are not even fans to begin with, but i digress. This is a great show from DMB's 2010 summer tour. It shows how the band has matured musically, with new, jazzy techniques in Warehouse, playing great new songs from Big Whiskey, and adding new flavor's to classic tracks like Two Step. The version of Two Step from this show is absolutely amazing and shows why DMB are one of the top touring bands in the U.S. today. They also play a tid-bit of the new song called 'Blackjack', which sounds promising here(I've heard longer versions played, it's a great song). The band sound it top form at this show, Dave's voice doesn't sound bad at all. The only real issue is Boyd's violin is kind of buried in the mix, but it's not terrible as other reviewers stated. Overall, this is a prime example of the live experience of DMB, recommended to the fans!
