Thick book, thin material,

I was disappointed by their 'listing' of children's agents and publishers. I could list a whole bunch they didn't cover just off the top of my head. Unless they expect this book to be bought as a part of the general 2010 Writer's Market, they've omitted/forgot a lot of useful information! There's less than 10 pages of agent listings for all of Canada and US!

1. It's available now, not in 2011. Don't have to wait for it.2. There are many helpful articles included, like interviews with agents, first time children's authors, and successful YA novelists. 3. Of the many indexes included, there's one that separates publishers by types of books they accept (ie. picture books, middle readers, etc.). 4. There's a list of international publishers, which, for the writers of Canada, is helpful in finding local publishing houses. 5. The low price includes a 1-year subscription to the Children's section of the Writer's Market website.

For the avid writer eager to publish, this is one of the best purchase you can make. It's loaded with potential publishers who spell out their interests so you don't send to the wrong people. Read their outline carefully then check the listed websites for guidelines. Follow the guidelines to a tee or your submitted hard work will be trashed. It's worth the effort and the purchase.
