5.0 out of 5 stars Love this planner! A great way to help bring order to a busy family's schedule. Nov 6 2011
By Christa - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Calendar
I have used this planner for the past two years and just ordered a new one for 2012. I like the hard cover with elastic band to keep it closed when you're not using it. I have never had a problem with the planner falling apart (other review) - inside it is held together with a metal spiral and punched pages. I actually prefer this type of binding because you can open the planner completely to write it in. The pages are thick, good quality paper. I like that each month (as well as "Addresses" and "To Do")is tabbed for easy access and offers a full month's view. I absolutely love that each family member has a column that coincides with each day (after the full month's view) to keep track of events, appointments, etc. We are a family of five - first column is for MOM (preprinted), and four additional columns can be customized with family members' names. In the back of the planner there is a calendar of the following year, a few pages for addresses, and tear out "To Do" lists. I have yet to find a planner that better meets my needs.

3.0 out of 5 stars Why assume it's for "MOM"? Mar 26 2012
By Lisa C. Stratton - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Calendar
I love the layout and functionality of this calendar, but I wish the publisher would acknowledge that not all families are run and organized by a "Mom." (On each page, it comes with the "Mom" column pre-printed with "MOM" and all the others blank to be filled in.) This choice (and the accompanying marketing as a "mom's calendar") probably limit the sales of this otherwise great product because the only families who can use this calendar -- without having to cross out the "Mom" entry to write someone's name there -- are heterosexual couples with children (or I suppose families with two Moms if one is the default Mom and the other writes it in). This setup fails to take into account the many families with stepkids who don't call the female adult(s) "Mom," households in which "Dad" is the main household organizer (see previous reviewer!), or same-sex male couples and groups of people living together who may not officially be families. This book would work for ALL OF THEM if it didn't make sexist assumptions about household and family roles. Why limit your market like that??
5.0 out of 5 stars Been buying these planners for years July 9 2012

This planner is wonderful! I've bought them for 4 years now. I love how each person has a separate column and how the day is divided into sections (morning, afternoon, evening). It's well made and easy to use. I only ever needed it for 18 months when I first found it and purchased it. Because I buy a new one yearly I don't ever get use out of it for 18 months. Will continue to buy a new one every year.
