This Compnent splitter cable is for splitting component signal to 2 display devices, and provides an inexpensive alternative to displaying an image on 2 display at the same time. The female ends are too close together to fit most component cables, but all you have to do is shave a little plastic (not all of it) off the sides of male end of the cables you will be using with this. I noticed no degradation of signal and this was with an older (circa 2003) Sony projection TV.I used this product as the pass through on my slingbox changed the colour on the TV slightly. Using the splitter instead of the pass through works very well.

This splitter will degrade your signal as expected. It is not an amplifier so by splitting the signal, it lost half the power to both display. Just like an audio splitter, the sound will become softer & in this case the video will become darker when split.How dark? Its about as dark as turning down the brightness and contrast level all the way down to the bottom of my panasonic LCD TV. Besides this the only other alternative costs around 50-100 bucks. I thought, maybe I'll give this a whirl and see how it does. I notice NO signal loss. I have a 42 inch LCD and am splitting the signal from the HD receiver to that TV and a computer monitor with a VGA to component adapter. The whole thing works great. Cheap and 100% effective.

now this is what i like- things that just work! thats all i ask- work!! also, it is a very hard to find product so if u use things like this i would recommend geting 2 since they are so cheap.
