I really enjoyed reading this book, even though it gets a bit more truthful and darker than the press releases originally admitted to. I cried at each milestone, remembering the coverage being shown in the news, and on cnn the night they were rescued. This is one book I'll be keeping, and am glad to have bought the hard cover edition.

I love stories of survival and this one is amazing! Thank you very much Jonathan Franklin for writing this book! Truly an incredible account of collaboration and survival. This is an uplifting true story and a heartwarming read. The author's ability to develop in print each person who was involved - both those trapped and those above ground fighting to rescue the miners - was excellent and easy to follow and understand. There were times when I was reading and could imagine what it felt like to be trapped underground - that's how well written it was. I also felt like I was standing there beside everyone when the miners stated to come out of the ground - well done Jonathan Franklin - I cried and loved how you quoted what the last miner said when he surfaced - I was totally sobbing by that point!
This is a must read and will definitely stay with you for along time!

During the actual Mining crisis I was stuck to the tv like glue. I worried on a daily basis about these 33 men. When I saw this book I couldn't wait to get home and read it. It took me 1 day. One of the best books I've read ever!
