I bought this title during my pediatric residency. It is a great resource to teach from (each topic is only 1-2 pages). Most useful to read before seeing a patient, helps make sure you ask the correct focused history questions, and specific findings for physical exams. Not as thorough as uptodate, but that's great, sometime you only need a brief refresher, or an outline before seeing the patient. Covers gen peds topics very well for a family doc.

Would also recommend to go with it "Pediatrics in a page Signs and symptoms". Its small, short and concise. Covers differential diagnosis by presenting complaints, probably the only pediatric book I've see that does so, combined with the 5 minute peds consult its a great quick reference when you think to yourself "could I be missing something?"

I think these two books combined would provide the backbone of any family docs 'pediatric' library.

This book was recommended to me by my clinical preceptor and has been heaven sent! It gives a quick yet thorough review of diseases in alphabetical order, including labs and follow up. This worked well for me because I had very little peds experience. I definitely recommend this text. I plan on getting the others for primary care and women's health!
