Product Description

From Amazon.com

The Cure and a reggae beat certainly make strange bedfellows as, one assumes, do Adam Sandler and a girl with no short-term memory. In that sense, the 50 First Dates soundtrack is a good accompaniment to a fluffy romantic comedy in which one of the main characters is perpetually living in the past. It's also a fitting follow-up to that other Sandler/Barrymore vehicle, The Wedding Singer. (Take a set by Robbie Hart, add a topical shirt, and voilá: a new soundtrack is born.) To those who can't get enough of '80s hits like Bryan Ferry's "Slave to Love" and the Cars' "Drive," setting them to a island beat will likely seem whimsical, charming, and perfect for barbecue weather. For those who are glad the '80s are gone, this CD is a pass. And for Sandler-completeists who crave lighthearted, comic tunes like "Forgetful Lucy," well, you obviously own this already. --Leah Weathersby

3.0 out of 5 stars Album would be better with these songs!, April 10 2004

This review is from: 50 First Dates: Love Songs from the Soundtrack (Audio CD)
The album has some really great covers especially Slave to Love and Hold Me Now but....

All those "missing" songs featured in the movie but not on the soundtrack CD are really awesome too! So here's a list of the songs everyone has been looking for:

1. Wouldn't It Be Nice by The Beach Boys (sung by Lucy)
2. Another Day by Wings aka Paul McCartney
3. Amber by 311 ("..Color of Your Energy..")
4. Baby by Wyclef (during makeout in the office)
5. Blinded by the Light by Manfred Mann (first look at Lucy)
6. Do You Realize by Flaming Lips (Lucy's car accident)
7. Could You be Loved by Bob Marley (trailer)
8. Hey Yah by Outkast (trailer)
9. Somewhere Over the Rainbow by IZ (end song)

1.0 out of 5 stars Ugh., Jun 10 2004

This review is from: 50 First Dates: Love Songs from the Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Do you like the 80s? On the off chance you said yes, do you also like reggae? Would you like it if those two things were smashed together, and completely destroyed? Creating some (...)love-child that no one ever thought they wanted, this soundtrack is an atrocity. Not only does it provide a complete insult to the Cure (TWICE), but it also has poor Mark McGrath and 311 both choking out their own rendition of what they consider reggae. Most of the album is supposed to be love songs, but pretty much all I can muster after a few listens is apopleptic rage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Help finding name of song, Feb 29 2004
By
This review is from: 50 First Dates: Love Songs from the Soundtrack (Audio CD)
If anyone has seen this movie....there was a song that was being played when drew barrymore was in the accident and the lyrics are something like..... "the most beautiful face{place).." I have heard this song on the mitsubishi galant commercial recently but nowhere else. If anyone knows the name of the song and artist, please let me know.
thanks
