It's not a "sander" it's a Rotex 90, Aug 26 2011

I don't even call it a sander. That would mean that it's like other sanders. It's not at all. In the manual they refer to it as a cutter. It's like the thing knows what your doing. It's like a belt sander that doesn't chew things up. In rotatory mode with 40 grit I have edge sanded a cedar 4x4 down a half inch, in about 30 seconds. Even with 40 on it feels like 100 with and other sander. In delta mode it's like when your watching an infomercial and their making things look like they work so much better than they do, but you get the thing home and it's crap, well with the Rotex 90 your like holy &^%$ it works even better. Anyhow if your thinking about buying on of these, and your wondering if it's worth the money. Like every Festool I own, it's worth even more. I use my C12 more any tool I own, well after my Stiletto anyhow, and I would buy another one instantly if it ever broke no matter how much it cost. If your looking to buy a drill, saw, sander, router, or dust collection, Festool Festool Festool. Once you own one you will look at other tools like they are toys.

Ive owned pretty much all the big named sanders out there and have mixed feelings on all of them,some are good and some arnt worth using as a boat anchor.Then comes along the 90DX and I read all the reviews I could find.
Long story short I purchased it on Amazon to see if all the stories were true,about dust collection,aggressiveness and delta sanding.
Wow am I impressed,I wish this was around 20 years ago,Forget all the other sanders out there and buy this one,it uses 3.5inch sanding pads but cuts your sanding time in half compared to the others and dust is cut down by a good 99% compared to the others,It is the best investment I have made in years.
As good as the 90DX is Im ordering the 1400 router and maybe make a few more boat anchors:)

As an owner of the larger Rotex I was very interested in this tool. The bigger machine is phenomenal but is big. This much smaller machine does things as well as the larger machine but in a much smaller size allowing for high production with less fatigue. The super aggressive rotary mode is easily controlable with one hand and the bonus triangle function is like adding another tool! I make my living sanding and this tool ranks right up there at the top as a contender for the king of sanders.
