Best organ music out there?! May 5 2011
By Duncan Heard - Published on Amazon.com
So, I'm no classical music connoisseur but I've listened to quite a bit of Baroque music and this CD has some of the best works for organ that I've heard, Baroque or otherwise. Tapray may not have been particularly recognized for his genius while alive, but the man definitely had talent and this CD shows that. It's a dang shame the CD can't be found on Amazon or downloaded elsewhere (I've really only tried Rhapsody) because all the tracks I've heard from it are very good and I'd like it for my collection.

Spectacular Recording April 1 2008
By Richard B. Evans - Published on Amazon.com
I hear very spectacular movements from the recording on AOL Radio, but it is out of print and the manufacturer has no intention of producing more copies. This is unfortunate because I'm sure they could sell many copies if people hear how good the recording is.

A brilliant collection of masterpieces... April 10 2012
By John A. Bertels - Published on Amazon.com
Verified Purchase
Like some of the others who have reviewed Tapray's Organ Concertos below, I first heard some of the pieces on the Baroque station of AOL Classical Radio. At the time, it was also out-of-print, unavailable and I searched the Internet to no avail. A few months ago, I was one of the few and fortunate who was able to secure a copy of this work, in very good condition for sale on Amazon. It was well worth its weight in musical aura, even at a higher price...

These concertos for harpsichord (organ) and orchestra are wonderfully arranged, well-written and possess a tempo that is upbeat and uplifting -- a celebration of sorts. I would rate this as one of the best realistically undiscovered works (except those that had heard the excerpts on AOL Classical Radio), and of the same league as Handel's Water Music/Messiah and Rameau's Orchestral Suites from Naïs and Le Temple de la Gloire.

If you can get a chance to hear these masterpieces and/or get a copy of this collection at a fair price, it will be a rewarding, enriching experience. Below is the track listing:

1. Con VI: Grave Marque, Enchainant Avec Presto
2. Con VI: Aria Gratioso
3. Con VI: Presto Tambourin
4. Con II: Allegro
5. Con II: Musette Tres Tendrement
6. Con II: Minuetto
7. Con III: Allegro
8. Con III: Gavota Gratioso
9. Con III: Presto
10. Con V: Allegro
11. Con V: Aria Detache
12. Con V: Minuetto Theme Suivi De 4 Vars: Les 3 Premieres Etant Confiees A L'Orgue Solo
13. Con IV: Allegro Moderato
14. Con IV: Andante
15. Con IV: Giga
16. Con I: Prld Grave Enchainant Avec Fuga A Tre Sujetti Allegro
17. Con I: Aria Gratioso
18. Con I: Presto

too bad March 11 2010
By Stanley Krajenke - Published on Amazon.com
It's too bad one can't get a copy of this. It's beautiful...can't believe it's out of print.
No one has the album in stock. :-( April 21 2009
By Charles Mueller - Published on Amazon.com
I too have heard magnificent excerpts from the Tapray Organ Concertos album on AOL Radio. How could the manufacturer allow such an incredible piece of work by such a great artist to simply slip into oblivion like this? Isn't there anything Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders or Tower Records can do to prompt the manufacturer of this fine album to put it back into circulation again?
