Such sensual and sexy vampires! Love the artwork. Nov. 20 2010
By R.Parklane - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Keito, Saisei and Natsuhi. These are the 3 vampires Makoto Tateno has created to tempt us. And she has as these vampires are very sensual and sexy even if they seem monstrous in their behavior. There is a lot of non-cons but it is essential to the story. After all we are talking about vampires who need to feed on their humans counterparts while quenching their sexual appetites. Even if they admit to not able to feel any human emotions these vampires do love in their own perverse way. I am pleasantly surprise as there are plentiful of sex scenes in this story. Even if non con, I have to say they are tastefully drawn is a very seductive manner. And there is a fine plot here as two of the vampires find love with humans. Keito's story is almost bitter sweet as this vampire hunts for his human lover through time as said human is reincarnated every 50 years only to cause his vampire lover's death. This is a vampire's addiction for one human which is as close to love as a vampire could expressed. It could not be quenched but perhaps this time it could be.

Saisei's story is just as well done when he found himself addicted to a dampyre who is a vampire's curse. For to make love to a dampyre also means death for a vampire.
Lastly we have Natsuhi's little story which is touching and sweet as the most cold and emotionless of the three finds himself somehow extending kindness which is not a vampire trait at all.

I hesitate to recommend this to those of you who have an issue with non con but Tateno's artwork is simply beautiful and her vampires are gorgeous even as they seduce and coerce.

3.5 Stars Nov. 17 2010

I loved Yellow (not the new episodes) and I like Blue Sheep, Makoto Tateno is a pretty good yaoi author. His latest A Bloody Kiss Tonight was about vampires.

There are three vampires, each alone, the oldest Keito is obsessed with a certain man, every 50 years or so this human is reincarnated and Keito finds him, then ultimately ends up being killed because of him, I guess you would call him a slight masochist. This current reincarnation is different though.

The second story is about a dhampir and the vampire who can't stop himself from taking the little dhampir. But dhampir blood and fluids is poison to vampires and soon he grows weak.

The third isn't really a story but a brief glimpse of what could be a second volume, the third and youngest vampire (who usually goes for women) sees a young boy dying from a lung disease and saves him, it's only a few pages, but is sweet.

This yaoi was a little different then what I'm used to with Tateno. Usually he spends all volume building up the relationships, but in this one the humans are sort of thrust in a captive/sub type position and the vampires are a little heartless. Granted they don't have human emotions but still I would have liked to see actual fondness first. I'm also not too sure why they can suck blood and eat roses, but perhaps that's a legend I'm not familiar with. The scenes between the couple are slightly rushed but very nice in true Tateno style. All in all worth the 8.73 Amazon price and I'll be looking for a sequel.
