Book Description

Nov 3 2009 Cape Light
A Christmas light shines bright in the midst of the darkest winter.

With Christmas only a few weeks away, Sam and Jessica Morgan look forward to celebrating the joyous day together. But when they?re awakened by the smoke alarm in the midst of one quiet night, they barely make it outside before their beloved house is engulfed in flames. Meanwhile, single mom Julie Newton and her seven-year-old daughter appear on Jack Sawyer?s doorstep, thanks to bad weather, a broken-down car, and a dead cell phone battery. And though Jack, still mourning the loss of his wife, feels none of the holiday spirit, he can?t turn them away. As Sam and Jessica become perpetual guests in others? homes, trying to piece their future back together, and Jack finds his frozen heart melting day by day, it soon becomes clearer than ever that miracles can happen even in the humblest of settings.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dealing with Problems Nov 11 2008
By Diana M. Cochran - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This book makes the people seem real--with real problems. I think it really highlights what happens to us when we close ourselves off from others after losing a loved one. Losing your home and all you have worked for can create havoc in a family--especially when we don't communicate our fears and feelings.

This is another charming story in a comforting series . . . definitely a must for those who have enjoyed the previous Cape Light families! I give a copy to my mother every Christmas and she always is pleased.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Christmas Star Mar 17 2012
By Anne - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I enjoyed the book, but felt that Jessica was over the top complaining. My one complaint with this book and another in the series is that other characters are mentioned and the names are wrong. For instance, Miranda, Sophie's granddaughter is mentioned as marrying a man Jeff who showed up in the book prior to A Christmas Star- a Christmas Visitor. His name was Eric in that book, or Adam as Miranda first called him before she knew his true name. Also, it was mentioned in the book A Christmas Visitor, that Jessica and Sam had two boys and a girl, Nora. In the book A Christmas Star, Jessica is hoping to have another child- I thought she had one from the account in the Christmas Visitor. The authors need to pay more attention to the details and names mentioned in prior books especially since this is a series!
