Book Description

The second book in the Secret of the Rose series by Michael Phillips is now available in this beautiful repackage. The gripping story of a Prussian familys struggles following World War II, this book finds Sabina continuing her relentless search for her father with the help of the Jewish underground while desperately trying to remain hidden from the man she almost married. Strong Christian content is the cornerstone of this series and is sure to continue to delight historical fiction fans.

About the Author

In 1970, while students at Humboldt State University, Mike and Judy Phillips began what would become the One Way BookShop as a small, informal source of Christian books and materials for their fellow students. Over the next two decades God prospered those small beginnings, and now the bookstore is a thriving part of the Humboldt County Christian community.

Family is very important to Mike. He and his wife, Judy, have taught their three sons, Patrick, Robin and Gregory, at home throughout their education. Home schooling enables the family to frequently accompany Mike in his work-related travels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Among my favorites., April 23 2011
This review is from: A Rose Remembered (Paperback)
I read the Secret of the Rose series a long time ago on loan from a friend. I have desired them for my library for quite some time and and thrilled to now have them. Michael Phillips is a great writer and includes many profound Christian statements throughout his writings which encourage and challenge the reader.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully Inspiring, April 24 2002
By CJ Herman - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: A Rose Remembered (Paperback)
Michael Phillips is wonderful in taking history and weaving a story of intrigue, faith and personal endurance. Historical fiction can be very exciting or very boring depending on the writer and he makes it come alive. You will be blessed by this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forgiveness, Reunion, Secrets, April 7 1997
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: A Rose Remembered (Paperback)
Sabrina works in West Berlin and lives in East Berlin. She lives a double life. What gave her purpose in the midst of the greyness were her other responsibilities: night work, weekend work, middle-of-the-night work. The Network. She is reunited with Matthew, an American from her past. Together they take a journey to discovering the secrets of the rose. She was left an inheritance; not of worldly riches but of goodness. She was given the responsibility to faithfully walk as God's woman whever he might lead her. This is a must read book
