Book Description

Nov 6 2012 Cape Light (Book 13)
Christmas evokes heartfelt songs of joy and devotion. Yet so often we hold back and fail to express our feelings of love and joy to the ones we hold dear. This year, the residents of Cape Light and Angel Island will learn to speak what’s in their hearts…

Adele Morgan has made a few mistakes in her life. After a serious medical scare, she realizes that her greatest regret is that she sat idly by while a petty dispute tore her family apart. She has returned to Cape Light determined to mend the relationship between her feuding sons and bring everyone together for the holidays. A daunting challenge even for a mother’s brave and loving heart.

Adele’s arrival elicits little delight. Molly Willoughby is overwhelmed with her catering business, and Sam Morgan is busy helping Reverend Ben with the Christmas festivities. Neither one seems to have time for their Grandma Addie and her plan to make things right. It will take a miracle to unite Adele’s family under one roof this Christmas. Lucky for Adele, miracles can happen at the Inn at Angel Island.

Meanwhile, there’s another visitor and this one’s a skeptic determined to debunk Angel Island’s legend. Grad student Jonathan Butler plans on staying long enough to prove the angel lore is nonsense and leave with a grand “bah humbug!” Stuck on the island for Christmas, he spends his time doing research in the Historical Center where he meets Tess Wyler, a local undergrad who helps him gather information. It’s only a matter of time before he too falls under the island’s spell and realizes that the proof of Angel Island and Cape Light’s magic lies within.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pre Ordered Nov 14 2012
By Annoyed Grandmother - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love these books. A year ago I ordered one not knowing that it was a series. It was book number 6. My children ordered all the other ones for me so I got to reas them all. I was afraid there wouldn't be anymore since Thomas Kinkade passed away. When I saw it I preordered it so I would have it as soon as possible. I just started it today and I was hooked by page two. I love it when you get hooked that early in a book. Will finish it by the week-end and then start looking for the next one. They are feel good books. The stories take place in Cape Light. The main characters are the same in every book. They add a few new ones but they always include the main ones. If you are not religous at all you probably won't enjoy them since faith is a big part of each book. I recommend starting with the first book, Cape Light if you decided to read them.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Pleasant Christmas Surprise Dec 2 2012
By Avid Mystery Reader - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have to admit with the death of Thom Kincade, I was a bit surprised about this book coming out. Maybe it was already in the works but there was nothing in the prologue that said anything about this. However, the information about Thom was written in a past tense. I always though that the co-writer Katherine Spencer (not her real name) was the main writer. I guess it really does not matter because the end product is what is important and it is wonderful. My mom read the book and thought it was one of the best in the series and I have to agree with her.
The book brings in the people from the other series Angel Island, and weaves a magical tale of a miracle that happened way back in the founding of Cape Light. A serious contagious fever hit the pioneers of Cape Light with a vengence. Many people died and the decision was made to put these people in quarantine on Angel Island. Supposedly a miracle happened and a mysterious group of people came and helped these people get well. That is the basis of the story as a grad student comes to the Inn at Angel Island to find out what really happened. He meets a local girl and we have a lovely romance. There is also another story going on as Joe and his brother are at odds for years and their 90 year old mother is trying to finally get the family back together. However, nothing goes smooth and Sam and Molly, Joe's children are at each other's throats. It does take a Christmas miracle to illuminate the circumstances of hundreds of years ago and also to make thngs right with Joe, his brother, and family. Bad things can be mended at Christmas time. This is a lovely story of hurts and slights and difficult times that are healed through the love of Christmas and possibly an angel or two. I highly recommend this book as a lovely read for the CHristmas season.
