This was a great read. Every now and again there is a book you regret picking up because you eventually realize you're not going to sleep much that night. I read this book in a single sitting on a school night back in college. A tale of kidnappings to strange places for sinister purposes... a test of character, mutation - inside and out. This book has it all. If you are a die-hard John Shirley fan, this book is probably one of the reasons.
