Product Description

From the Author

As a Physical Therapist and surfer I recognized that there was a need for a guide to assist surfers in learning a basic program for flexibility and conditioning. I tried to design a program that people would actually perform. By including the exercise tubing with this guide it eliminates the need for any other type of exercise equipment what so ever. Also most of the flexibility exercise can be performed right on your surfboard out in the water.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just What The Doctor Ordered, Sep 10 2001

I found this book really good and completely to my taste. I am more of a visual person, so the pictures of the exercises were really useful to me. Also, the pages you are on stay open (because it is spiral bound)...I wish more exercise books did this! There was just enough written explanations of the "why" and "how" to do the exercises. It gives you the information you need to create a stretching and conditioning program, without all the technical jargon. Plus, the tubing that comes along with the book is a great idea. Bottom line: this book is user-friendly and got me stretching from the get go!

This book helped with my flexibility and coordination. I like that there are stretches given that I can perform on my board while I am waiting in the line up. I also liked that tubing comes with the book so I don't have to spend time and money at the gym.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's simple, yet effective, July 25 2005

I really liked this book, it combines a basic flexibility program and also incorporates simple conditioning exercises used for surfing. I have had a shoulder injury for a while and this book has helped me get my shoulder back in shape for surfing. I also like the rubber tubing so I can exercise anytime.
