Disappointed in the publisher, Sep 12 2010

These are a couple of previous books packaged up into one new book. I bought it thinking it was a new one. I was really disappointed to see that I already had these stories and had paid $10 + shipping to find that out. There was nothing on Amazon to show that these stories were previously released, while every indication that it was new (you could "pre-order" and there is a new front cover). I feel this was a rip off. I love this author & every story she's written so far. I was really looking forward to something new. There are going to be quite a few fans in an uproar. The publisher, or whoever decided to do this, should at least give us a clear "heads up."

I ordered this book also thinking that it was new. There was NOTHING in Amazon's preorder information that indicated that it was a repackaged story. With a new cover and title, it seemed new. I am disappointed and a lot angry that I paid the money only to find out that I already had the books in my library. Shame on you Amazon, publisher, and author. I will bee MUCH more careful about preordering her books from now on. I am also sending back my order and would like to request a shipping refund.

Rhys and Robin's stories are now available as kindle books!!!, Dec 17 2010
By Kathleen MacIver "reader/author" - Published on Amazon.com

Lots of people seem to be ticked off that the publisher has re-released Another Chance to Dream and If I Had You together in this one title. Apparently those people just hit "buy" without checking Lynn Kurland's site, where she explained that this was the publisher's only method of keeping these books in print. She was very grateful to them for doing it, and so am I!
But an added bonus is that these stories are now available as kindle books! And you get both for the price of one!
So what's not to like? If you've already got the stories (both of which are historicals, rather than paranormal or time-travel) and don't want more, don't buy it. But if you haven't read them and want to know more...
Another Chance to Dream is the story of a Gwen...a hot-headed girl in Medieval England who has been unable to find a way out of her betrothal, despite years of plotting and planning. She's known who she wants for years...the landless Rhys de Piaget. Rhys loves her, too, but his lack of land and title isn't his biggest problem. His honor keeps him from stealing her away when he should have, before it was too late. But Rhys isn't a man to give up...
This story definitely has its "all is lost" moments, and some don't care for it for that reason. But I love it because of Rhys's dedication. Rhys is who he is, and you just can't help but love him! (BTW...Rhys and Gwen are the parents/grandparents of most of the de Piaget stories that Lynn has written.)
If I Had You Is Robin's story. Robin and Anne both appear as children in Another Chance to Dream, but they're grown now, and Robin has been haunted by his failures and his past for so long that not even his easy-going brother Nicholas can convince him that things aren't as impossible as they seem. As for Anne, he'd give anything to have her, but what he has yet to realize is that it isn't giving something that will win her...it's facing his past that will open his eyes to the fact that she's been waiting for him since she was a girl.
I absolutely love Robin and Anne's story. Anne is an inspiring woman, for her strength is remarkable, despite her quiet, sweet ways. Who else could love (and put up with) Robin so well? But Robin is a wonderful hero, too. A tortured hero, yes...but most definitely a hero. This one's got some laugh-out-loud scenes, too!
Sooo...enjoy everyone! (And please stop complaining about it being a re-issue...I promise you, it's a very GOOD thing for all Lynn Kurland fans!)
