Another good visit to TURNHAM MALPAS and the interesting group of villagers. Each visit includes familiar characters, as well as the introduction of new characters. A very pleasant read.

I started reading this book having been a fan of Turnham Malpas and Rebecca Shaw since The New Rector. I have to admit to getting about a third of the way into this book and feeling... shock/horror: bored! Nothing was happening. Where was the drama, the shock, the happenings in the village? Then Peter makes a shock announcement and it was all ON again. After that it was a great read. Fans of Rebecca Shaw's Village series will enjoy this new installment... and like me probably feel somewhat cheated at the ending. Because there is actually no conclusion to some of the storylines in this book.... ARRRRGHHHHH.
