Flawed but Fantastic ...
Was eagerly anticipating this game as it promised to deliver over 50 Ferraris to drive on fantastic race tracks around the world.
Positives:
+ Realistic Handling. I own a Ferrari 348 myself and felt the handling was very similar.
+ Nicely detailed tracks
+ Decent (but not world class graphics)
+ Challenging to drive - there is a learning curve for all newbies but the rewards are worth it. Turn off all the assists and the car becomes easier to drive.
Negatives:
- Didn't provide the 50 cars that were promised - future download content were scratched
- System 3 sucks
- Lots of niggling bugs - some of which were addressed in a support pack. But there are a lot of other faults/improvements that are still needed
- AI drives unnecessarily aggressively - if they drove like that in real life, they would be blackflagged immediately and their racing license revoked. Hint: Overtake them on the outside.
- Car sounds are not that great
- Cannot save games / poor replays
- Small customer base - makes it a moot point to get future updates / upgrades.
Despite the many negatives, it is a must-have game if you like realistic driving simulations. Don't buy it if you want an arcade game - you will get bored in two days.

I had to pay to beta test this game, Mar 19 2009

Ferrari Challenge promised a lot but delivered very, very little and early owners of this game amounted to nothing more than beta testers who had to pay for the privilege.
I'll start with the good, the driving physics are rather accurate and the track selection is lengthy and diverse, even if some of the circuits are a bit inaccurate. The inclusion such world class circuits like VIR and Spa was especially welcome.
Despite gritty and low rez graphics, the game has a low and inconsistent frame rate and is rife with popup. It completely fails in conferring a sense of speed, an attribute any racing game should posses.
Opponent AI is equally lackluster, consisting of nothing else but remorseless blocking that allows cars ahead to escape. The behavior exhibited by the AI would be promptly black flagged in any amateur or professional race series on earth.
If that were not enough, the game as delivered, featured completely broken online racing that was fixed for MONTHS. In addition, PROMISED DLC has been scuttled because of "licensing issues", but curiously these issues don't prevent the DLC from being rolled into a new game from System 3, called "Supercar Challenge".
Don't buy this game. Don't reward these developers' lies and deceit with you hard earned gaming dollar. Gran Turismo 5 prologue, while not without issues, offers a MUCH better racing experience and MUCH better value for your dollar.

Don't waste your time and money. It's not a good game. You want a good driving game buy the gran turismo, dirt 1 or formula 1 championship edition. Ferrari challenge it's just a good name but not a good game
