Excellent First-Gen Game for the 360!,

This review is from: Call of Duty 2 (Video Game)
Call of Duty: Finest Hour for the Xbox was a fine title averaging 75% approval in reviews, with similar results for Call of Duty 2: Big Red One also for Xbox. Now that the 360 is out, everything changes: in their review GameSpot claims Call of Duty 2 for the Xbox 360 runs SMOOTHER than its PC counterpart, probably the first time I've ever seen such a comment for a console game. Best of all, I've seen the game running on a 360 at a local retailer, and on an HDTV it is OUTSTANDING. Constant action from all directions, lovely particle effects, stunning sound effects, sharp graphics, and with ZERO SLOWDOWN in the frame rate. Outstanding - this is what we expect from the new generation of consoles, and the Xbox 360 delivers!!!!!

Call Of Duty 2 was released on many consoles but its on the XBOX 360 that it was really outstanding and a blast to play.It was different from the other editions in some ways and had way better graphics than the other versions of the game.Following the WWII footsteps that the original COD made,COD2 is now regarded as the serie`s high point and its actually been the best-selling XBOX 360 game for a good while(i think it still is).Is COD 2 really that good? The answer is well...Yes!Its good on all consoles wich it was released on actually but on the 360 it was amazing.I compared the PS2 version the XBOX 360 and 360 beat it with its better graphics, controls and well everything! The WWII shooters era is over now but this game is the best WWII shooter ever, its i game i still play since i have an XBOX 360.The excels in all area possible, online, multiplayer, single player missions... Story mode is pretty solid and the missions and tasks you are asked to do are worth doing but the games is realling shining on online and mutliplayer modes. In single player its all about war,the AI with you is actually good, unlike most games, while the other teams have at times rather poor AI it makes for a change. The graphics and sound of this game are truly amazing especially if you have an HD-TV set up,wich is a must for XBOX 360 owners. As for online its rock solid except maybe for a few points that don`t affect the game itself that much, some complained that the lobbys took a few tries to work but the results are generally satisfying. It would have been great to have more than 8 players in the same game tought, that is kind of deceving... The FPS shooter view and controls all along are neat comfy,it has great controls views and all so on that point its all good! In conclusion, words are hard to find to express my feelings about this game, but COD 2 is a great FPS shooter that will keep you besy for a long even after all that time its still a great game worthy of purchase and playing. If you like FPS shooters this would be great for you,5 stars my highest recommendation.

A great game that still entertains to this day. Excellent campaign, and even better multiplayer. Very well designed maps (on disc and available for download on XBL Marketplace). The only vice I have with this game, is if you own a High Def TV, you're probably going to experience an insane drop in the framerate when you're scoping or sighting, especially in multiplayer. But this can be fixed by lowering the resolution in the Display Settings through your Dashboard menu.If you're an achievement freak like me, you'll love this game. Just give the campaign a run through on Veteran difficulty and you'll have 1000 GS points. Other honorable mentions for super easy achievement points: NBA 2K6 - All you need to do is play one game with the standard settings, alone or with up to three friends (on the same team), and if you do it right you and anyone else playing on your team will immediately get all 1000 GS points one the match is finished. Just make sure you check the achievement menu before you start the match so you know what you have to do in game first (ie: triple doubles). If you don't know what a triple double is, look it up. Avatar: The Burning Earth - Start the game, press the B button until you're 1000 GS points richer. Madden 06 - This one requires some time, but insanely easy to get all 1000 GS points. Fight Night Round 3 - Same idea as Madden, takes time, but easy to get them all. Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Game - An ok game, straight forward, easy 1000 GS points. Need For Speed: Most Wanted - Play the game, get all the points. LOST: Via Domus - Only for true LOST fans, as the game is far from great. But it's an easy 1000 points if you can find everything and don't get killed by the smoke monster. Jumper: Griffin's Story - A horrible game. The real purpose of it is to test how long you'll play it before wanting to punch a baby. Easy enough points though, you should be able to get at least 800 on one play through. Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End - Surprisingly fun game, aside from all of the collecting. There is a LOT of collecting. But if you can find everything in every level, you can easily get 850 GS points in one play through. BioShock - 960 GS points can easily be unlocked on a single run of this game on easy or medium as long as you find everything and get all of the upgrades and finish all of the research. Take pictures of anything and everything that moves. The other 140 (1100 GS points total) are for completing the game on the hardest difficulty, and for not using a Vita Chamber (refer to game) on the hardest difficulty. Batman: Arkham Asylum - Same idea as BioShock, easy story-driven points, and points for upgrades and solving riddles. One story play should get you around 800 GS points. There's also points for the challenge mode. Fable II - Play it. Find S#!t. Achieve it. Other games that will give a very good boost to your gamerscore from just playing through them are: Halo 3: ODST, Crackdown, Bully: Scholarship Edition, Gun, Kameo: Elements Of Power, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, Eat Lead, Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, The Darkness, Dead Space, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Scene It: Lights, Camera, Action! A lot of these games are really cheap by now, and if you're just in it for the points, you could probably rent any of these for a few days to a week and get everything you need.
