I gave this 4 stars as I thought it was 3400 joules as stated on Amazon.ca. It turned out to be 3020 joules. If not for the typo, I'd give it 5 stars. I contacted Amazon who apologized and credited me for the error, which was great of them. The outlet spacing is nice, as is the built-in outlet shutters, coax protection which I haven't tried yet, Ethernet and phone protection which seem to work fine with my DSL internet, easy to see status lights, and the thick power cord which pivots 180 degrees which is handy in tight spaces. The cord's plug is angled at 45 degrees so it won't block the other receptacle. It's being used for my home office. The case is made out of plastic, not metal like my Tripp Lite HT10DBS, but for the much lower price, it's sufficient. Like others have said, make sure to mail or fax the registration card to APC so a potential claim will be covered. *Jan 31 update*: I tested the phone line splitter and was able to send a fax, but had to reboot my DSL modem to get internet back. So I bought a separate switch box instead. The on/off switch feels loose but it works.
