5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap price and lots of convenience! Must buy! July 15 2014

This thing is just great! I bought this one after reviewing a lot of surge protectors online. It seemed to be the best for the price and at first glance it is! The power cord is extra-long (6 feet), it pivots on the surge protector and the wall plug is diagonal, so impossible to block the other outlet. After easily wall-mounting it using 2 screws, it uncluttered my computer and accessories wiring since I didn't have a power outlet close to my desk and had to use a couple extensions. I rated it 5-stars for now and will update if anything happens, but I don't foresee anything that could happen. Even if the thing is in plastic, it seems sturdy, enough to be wall-mounted anyway. The remaining unused outlets can be shut with individual sliders. The package came surprisingly with a coaxial, phone and ethernet cable; I don't plan on using any of those on the surge protector but it's pretty convenient. The warranty seems ok, though I hope I won't have to use it! At this price point, it seems to be the best you can get!

4.0 out of 5 stars It works! May 16 2014

What can I say... It's a surge protector and it works. I bought it because one of my PCs was "oversensitive" and was rebooting every night - possibly because of a power surge. It doesn't do it anymore, so I figure the surge protector is doing its job. I didn't give if five starts because I don't think I can ever "love" a surge protector.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value April 2 2013

Bought this power bar for my computer. Don't have anything bad to say about it. The design works well for all type of plugs or transformer adapters. The sockets are pretty stiff, but will hold heavy power adapters without them unplugging from the bar. I have mine mounted on the wall, so it's nice that things don't unplug from it easily. The plastic feels a bit cheap but I don't foresee a problem with it unless you are hard on equipment. Hopefully the bar will work in the event of a surge and I hope to never have to use the warranty coverage, but I hear APC is pretty good to deal with. Make sure you fill out the warranty registration card.

4.0 out of 5 stars I gave this a 4 out of 5 because I ... July 11 2014

I gave this a 4 out of 5 because I have owned two of these. The first performed admirably and for over a year until an electrical storm. The second one came with the telephone connections non-functioning. This item is considered HazMat by Amazon and thus could not be shipped back for return or exchange. If I rate the first item at 5 stars and the second one at 3 stars, it averages out to 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Apc P11vnt 11-Outlet 3400J Surge Protector May 18 2014

Only recently received the surge protector and bought this brand because of the decent reviews online.
I was looking for one to basically connect my Yamaha Mox6 keyboard and powered speakers but the other extra outlets are available as and when I need them.
So far there are no issues and the unit is operating just as it should and I'm happy with this purchase and the price point.
I like the fact that there is a light(s) for the protection working, overload and any problem with the building wiring.
The cord which swivels is of sufficent length and the unit could be wall hung if necessary.
I would recommend this protection to my friends.

4.0 out of 5 stars Met my home office needs Jan. 23 2014

I gave this 4 stars as I thought it was 3400 joules as stated on Amazon.ca. It turned out to be 3020 joules. If not for the typo, I'd give it 5 stars. I contacted Amazon who apologized and credited me for the error, which was great of them. The outlet spacing is nice, as is the built-in outlet shutters, coax protection which I haven't tried yet, Ethernet and phone protection which seem to work fine with my DSL internet, easy to see status lights, and the thick power cord which pivots 180 degrees which is handy in tight spaces. The cord's plug is angled at 45 degrees so it won't block the other receptacle. It's being used for my home office. The case is made out of plastic, not metal like my Tripp Lite HT10DBS, but for the much lower price, it's sufficient. Like others have said, make sure to mail or fax the registration card to APC so a potential claim will be covered. *Jan 31 update*: I tested the phone line splitter and was able to send a fax, but had to reboot my DSL modem to get internet back. So I bought a separate switch box instead. The on/off switch feels loose but it works.
