4.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Useful Concept Aug 11 2000
Format:Hardcover
The concept of Professor Scheer to analyse and structure the business processes in order to derive the IT structure of a company is unmatched in the industry. No other Software tool I have seen so far provides a general concept and the means to wholisticly map an organisation into an IS concept. This is really best of bread and for all IS Managers and Business Planning People a must.

1.0 out of 5 stars Colossal waste of time/money. April 3 2011
By Thomas G. Pace - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is the worst attempt at conveying information in a readable manner. It has typeos throughout. Written in German, translated to English. It's a dinosaur. This 3rd edition is from 1999. I can't believe that my class assigned this to the class as our only source of course material. The examples show only portions of what they're trying to explain, there isn't much on the net to clarify the examples, so you're pretty much on your own. The teacher actually called this book "a piece of crap" and blames it's use on the university. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. And I like BPM, a lot. Was looking forward to taking this class, but it's money down the drain.
