My primary use for this netbook is university work. I have been using it primarily for word processing, internet, PDF reading. Works wonderfully for those purposes.
I am incredibly satisfied with this product's battery life. I have been getting 10-12 hours to a charge. The computer is defenitely not the fastest out there and there are some delays in opening programs for the first time such as web browsers or even 'My Computer' but I'll happily wait 10 seconds so that I can use it for 10 hours.I cannot wait to take it on a plane and to be able to work on it for the entirety of a 5 hour flight flight.
The boot time with `boot booster`is almost as fast as the expressgate boot-time which I found impressive. I was also impressed with the quality of the speakers as I have heard much worse on full sized laptops in the past. I happy with the recovery partition`s option to `backup`your recovery partition to an external drive, so if the HD ever fails you can still reload your system.
Not a gaming system by any stretch of the imagination, but Starcraft works great.
The only small annoyance I have is the brightness settings on the screen are very bright on the lowest settings. I also had a little trouble using a shared DVD-rom to install programs over a router. Turned out if you are not sharing with two Windows 7 machines, you need to turn off `homegroup settings.`
Overall I highly recommend this netbook to anyone looking for portable computing with amazing battery life.
This computer went on sale around the holidays (low three hundred range), so I decided to purchase a second one for my girl friend. I kept Windows 7, but replaced the RAM for 2G (for only $26!!!). She is very happy with the computer.
Overall I love this little computer. The only reason I rated it a 4 rather than a 5 is that you have to spend an extra $30-40 to change the RAM.
My only complaints are that the battery failed to hold a charge after about 1 year (but had the best battery life I have ever experienced before that, 13 hours no problem) and the processing speed can be slow at times.
Recommend using for casual internet browsing/checking email and nothing heavier.

Frustrating to type because a glitch in the keyboard will suddenly send the curser and what you are typing to another line causing you to stop, correct and go to where you left... Read morePublished on Feb. 8 2014 by Darlene Cross
It's wonderfully light and easy to carry around. But the battery doesn't really last more than 8 hours; although that's fine for me but I actually expected it to last longer. Read morePublished on Nov. 1 2010 by M
