Great tablet, but could use a few tweaks...,

This review is from: ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101-B1 10.1-Inch Tablet Computer (Tablet Only) (Personal Computers)
I've had this tablet for a week now and I am generally really enjoying it. The ability to surf the web as you would on a normal computer is really what sets Honeycomb tablets apart from the Ipad, and from reviewing other honeycomb tablets in the store before I bought, I have to say the transformer is smoother and more responsive than the rest. Don't buy this tablet expecting the same amount of apps as on hte Ipad though! Honeycomb has only been out for a very short while, so even though there are tons of Android apps available, there are very few that are designed to really take advantage of the screen size. Also, because the OS is quite new, there are still a few bugs that come up every now and again, but I think this is greatly improved in the new 3.1 update. The device itself is a real treat - it's light, easy to hold, and the screen is clear and vibrant. I've already mentioned that the performance is good, and I have to say also that there has never been any issue of the tablet getting hot, even when playing graphically intensive games. Overall I'm generally very happy with my purchase. So here's a list of pros and cons: Pros: - Thin and light - Good battery life - Great screen - Can stand up to the odd bump (I dropped it accidentally from a couple of feet off the ground, due to forgetting that the charge cable was still plugged in, so it pulled the device out of my hand. There wasn't even a scratch on the device!). - Really great browser support, including flash player. - Ability to dock it and turn it into an netbook. - MicroSD card slot Cons: - The default keyboard isn't great, so you're better investing in a split screen keyboard app. - Charging cable is VERY short, so using it while charging is difficult, and if you forget that you left it plugged in and go to pick it up, you will probably have the device yanked from your hand, or you'll wrench the cable (or both). Invest in a USB 3.0 extension if you want to avoid this problem, USB 2.0 doesn't work. - Can't charge the tablet from a normal USB 2.0 port (unless the tablet is fully off, when I'm told it will trickle charge). - Lack of "must have" apps, but this should come with time - OS still has some bugs at times - Flash video can be a bit choppy at times, but this is a problem for pretty much all mobile devices from what I hear. - No way to fully backup all settings and saved data/games without rooting the device (though you can sync some data with Google, not all data can be synched). Over all I really enjoy this tablet and would recommend it (I prefer it over the Ipad by far!) but whether you prefer this or the Ipad will mostly depend on what you want to do with it. As I use it mostly for surfing the web, the Ipad just isn't an option for me as I want to see sites the way they were designed to be seen.

We all love this tab, it work perfectly. It is lightweight. Not the best camera (we didn't purchase it for that purpose ) The battery could be better if i compare to the xoom tab. Great product!

freedom from iTunes.....,

This review is from: ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101-B1 10.1-Inch Tablet Computer (Tablet Only) (Personal Computers)
I have an iPad....dealing with iTunes drives me crazy. For example, I switched email accounts but iTunes won't let me move all items to the new email account. I also don't want use iTunes for songs and video. So I bought my wife the ASUS.....admittedly it is early in our usage, but it seems to be equal to the iPad, except for fewer apps. But it has all the apps we need. Looking forward to Android taking Apple down a peg or two.
