AT&T Corded 2-Line Speakerphone

From Amazon.ca

The AT&T 993 Corded 2-Line Speakerphone is perfect for a small business that needs a telephone that supports two lines. You can make and receive calls by using the keypad and Speakerphone in the base station. The phone's three-party conferencing lets you conduct business with three people conversing together on three different lines. Automatic line selection means that when the phone is ringing and you pick up, you will be connected to the one that is ringing. You can also set up different ringtones for each of the lines.

A large display provides easy-to-read text for setup and caller information. The phone has a 100-entry memory and a 99-name-and-number caller ID history. Numbers stored in the caller ID history can be dialed directly; and with call waiting-capable caller ID, you can see who is calling even when you are already on the line. If you subscribe to a voicemail service, a red light blinks when you have voicemail waiting. For hands-free operation, the 2.5-millimeter jacks lets you connect a headset.

This comes with a well-documented manual. Works as it is supposed to do, but may take some "fiddling" to get all the functions working as you
may want (especially the flashing lights to indicate a message). I have three complaints: the "history" lights remain on unless you clear them by going through each call (or just accept it as as); Sometimes, when dialing using the speaker rather than holding the handset, the phone sticks on a number with the tone ringing (this does not seem to happen when dialing using the handset to listen) and more importantly, the little plastic clip to hold the receiver on the phone in the vertical position is very cheap and slides down all the time letting the phone fall to the floor. I fixed this with some contact cement as I will never use this phone in the horizontal position. Other than that, the sound is clear.

Not impressed with this phone. Overall, it feels like a cheaply made phone.
The touch pads are sticky and find I have to redial as a number did not enter correctly. Line does a fair bit of crackling....I brought in another phone to make sure it wasn't just my phone line and it was all clear with the other phone. To disconnect the call, it needs to be done a couple of times as the line stays connected for some odd reason. Just not happy at all with this phone so will be returning and purchasing one of better quality.

Touch tone started failing after about 6 months and is getting gradually worse. It's not that the keys stick, its that it will stall on stall on one tone and just keep that tone going until you have to try and hang up (which is also difficult to do). Frequently doesn't register button pushes. It's so bad that when you press redial - it will still stall on a random tone and not complete the call. Useless phone to me now.

I used it for my main phone at home. Screen is easy to read, touch pad is large. Two phone lines in one phone is convience and save the space on my desk. I hav all the feathers that I need on this phone.
