Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is a family man whose wife and daughter were brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx) a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor is assigned to the case. Against his will Rice is forced to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice. Fast forward ten years. The man who got away with murder is found dead and Shelton cooly admits his guilt. Then he issues a warning to Rice: Either fix the flawed justice system or key players in the trial will die. Soon Shelton follows through on his threats orchestrating from his jail cell a string of spectacularly diabolical assassinations. Excellent Movie,

Heard that this movie didn't do too well in theaters so decided against going to see it. However heard by more and more people how GREAT a movie it was so gave it a whirl and LOVED IT!!

A very revengeful movie,

This is the kind of movie I would love to see this repeatedly. It is how Gerard Butler decides to take revenge on the justice system because they failed him for letting the criminals go after they invade his house and kill his family. This is very shocking I would never get enough of this. I think Kathleen Turner, Charlize Theron or Angelina Jolie should be doing a movie called Another Law Abiding Citizen because of Kathleen Turner did play a murderer in Serial Mom. Charlize Theron also played serial killer Aileen Wurnoes in Monster and Angelina Jolie makes an excellent action woman.

Do We Need Another Super Villain?,

Maybe I've just watched too many movies but the premise of another "bad guy" that seems to be smarter than everyone else is starting to get old. This movie finds Gerard Butler trying to avenge his family's murder by murdering members of the justice system that he feels let him down. He manages to set up an overly elaborate plan to get even with everyone. One by one he kills people and no one can stop him even though they know he's doing it. Not to spoil the ending but guess what...his plans are eventually thwarted. Butler's character puts me in mind of Hannibal Lector or any one of a myriad of killers from any of the CSI shows that seems to be able to outsmart everyone until the end. The action was not bad but eventually you can't suspend your disbelief any more and you start wondering what ridiculous thing will happen next.
