Even though this film came near the end of their movie careers it was still one of their best efforts. This probably had as much to do with the supporting cast as with Abbott and Costello themselves. A correction to the other review here, Glenn Strange played Frankenstein's monster not Boris Karloff.

You'll love this, either as an A&B fan or as an afficianado of the horror genre. A truy deep laugh spectacle, and the best of the A & B black and white horror spoofs. The Blu-ray version is much superior.

Universal have taken great care in restoring this comedy-horror classic. The high-definition greatly enhances one's viewing pleasure since there are many detailed atmospheric sets (such as in the wax museum and Dracula's castle) which we can now more fully savour ! The conjunction of many talented people brings this spoof off....the script, performances, photography, special effects and music score...all combine to give us a great film, and one that represents Bud and Lou at their best (and that's thanks to Charles T. Barton's excellent direction -- resulting in a more controlled, subtle and funny Lou Costello). Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein appears to be more popular today with the public and critics than it was back in 1948. But non-fans beware. If you don't like this film, you are unlikely to enjoy the comedians' other, lesser efforts...
