From Library Journal
In a story that combines whimsy and mystery with a touch of the paranormal, veteran writer Krentz takes a bright, gutsy, determined heroine and an intelligent, logical, take-charge hero and sets them to unmasking a killer and settling a family feud all while coming to terms with their passionate feelings for each other. The Seattle setting, the involved family plot, and the engaging, up-front heroine are all vintage Krentz. The strangely gifted hero, however, is unusual and particularly intriguing because he has an unexpected and appealing streak of vulnerability for all his strength and power. Readers will be waiting for this one. This year's winner of the Romance Writers of America Lifetime Achievement Award, Krentz (Trust Me, Pocket Bks., 1995) is well known for both her contemporary and historical (as Amanda Quick) romances; she lives in Seattle.

From Booklist
Krentz has "absolutely, positively" produced another best-seller for her adoring readers to devour. In typical Krentz fashion, she pairs Molly Abberwick, trustee of a foundation for inventors, with Harry Trevelyan, a scientist and consultant for the foundation. Amid the doings of the usual quirky family members and other secondary characters, Molly becomes the target of a vicious prankster and Harry rushes to discover the identity of her tormentor. As Molly and Harry work to balance their business and personal relationships, family pressures threaten to destroy their chance for happiness. Krentz's flair for creating strong interpersonal relationships among her characters strengthens a novel with a tried (and tired) plot. Avid readers of Krentz will begin to foretell the ending (capture of the bad guy, resolution of family feud, etc.) within a few chapters, but the novel is sure to be in high demand in public libraries, so prepare accordingly.
