Format: Paperback
Casey Schwartz's job is to escort two trouble-attracting twins everywhere they go, day and night. If she cannot keep the twins from getting into trouble, it is up to Casey to do some damage control. So when the twins get too wild at a bar and a photographer is trying to snap some scandalous pictures, Casey steps in his way. The next thing Casey knows is waking up in jail for assaulting an off-duty cop. Her sister, Wanda Jefferson, comes with two friends to bail Casey out and try to piece together what happened. But mild mannered Casey seems to have had an attitude adjustment, so when one of Wanda's two friends makes her angry Casey sets the woman's hair on fire! Answers to the group's numerous questions begin when Clayton "Clay" Gunnersson walks in the door claiming he is responsible for everything.

Clay had been so close to finally getting rid of Hildegard, the demon who has been the bane of his existence for far too much of his vampire life. Unfortunately, the demon blood Clay had on his person is accidentally spilled on a mortal woman, causing her to become uncontrollably enraged. Like it or not, and she does not, Casey has become half demon and there is no going back. Casey is shooting fireballs from her fingertips, levitating, and sprouting horns. If that is not enough to wrap her mind around, Casey learns that her own sister, Wanda, and the two friends with her are also paranormal. Casey must learn to control her sudden tempers and how to use her powers without harming anyone. But can the still-human half of her control the half that is malicious demon?

***** FIVE STARS! Dakota Cassidy seems to get better and better with every book she writes. In my opinion, this story is the best thus far.

Accidental series, Book Four. I liked it better than the previous ones. Feb. 5 2010

***** FIVE STARS! Dakota Cassidy seems to get better and better with every book she writes. In my opinion, this story is the best thus far. Seeing the three main female leads from the three previous titles of the series made everything more fun and realistic. Readers will thoroughly enjoy this romp with the paranormal. Fun, humorous, and booty-licious! *****

ok book by a great writer March 5 2010

I purchased and read this book because I loved the other books in the "Accidental series". The reason this book gets only 3 stars is because for some reason I just couldn't get into it. Our heroine just doesn't live up to previous ones and the 'romance' between her and her 'acidental-mate' just seems forced and unreal. Don't get me wrong, I truely enjoyed the others in the series, this one just seems lacking.

laugh out loud romantic fantasy Feb. 4 2010
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Public relations specialist Casey Schwartz wakes up behind bars, but cannot recall getting arrested. She calls her big sister Wanda (see the Accidental Werewolf) to bail her out. Casey not only fails to remember beating up a cop, which led to her arrest, the normally mild mannered woman cannot understand her sudden short fuse and incredible strength.

Vampire Clayton Gunnersson arrives knowing why Casey has radically changed. In a bar someone accidentally dropped demon blood on her and she is changing into the genetic clone of Clay's demonic mate Hildegard. Casey is attracted to Clay, which if her "twin" finds out will make turning into a demon seem gentle and sweet.

This is a laugh out loud romantic fantasy as fans of the Accidental saga (See Accidental Human and Accidentally Dead) will understand the mantra may the Schwartz be with us. The story line is a breezy lighthearted frolic as a werewolf or vampire bite pale compared to being demonized. Zany throughout, fans of madcap paranormal tales will enjoy the meek will inherit the earth; if they live long enough.

~~just as good as the last one~~ April 2 2012

I don't know what it is about the series of books that keeps me coming back! The language drives me crazy as does the voice of the characters. I can't stand how the characters draw out words to make them longer and say "evah" rather than ever. Things like that. But here I am on the 4th book. I will say that this book was as good as the last one. (And much better than the first two.) It seems that there is a bit more of a story than in previous installments. That being said there is definitely a formula for this series and the stories are very predictable. Good read for the airplane or a day on the beach. Not much thinking required!
Not really feeling the main characters Aug. 27 2015

Still currently reading this book. I absolutely loved the first and second book. The third was good as well, but I didn't love Wanda and Heath as mush as I loved Keegan and Marty, Nina and Greg.

The reason why I only gave it three stars? Well, this may be just me, but Casey is just not like-able for me. (FYI going to rant on the protagonist for a bit) She's selfish, rude and has a mouth just like Nina's. But for some reason, she just seems worse than Nina. Though I wanted to hit Nina over the head in the beginning as well because she was so rude, she grew on me. She shows that she is actually human on the inside. I get that the demonic blood in Casey makes her want to stir up trouble, but Casey just comes off as a Grade A Bitch. I mean she calls Wanda for the first time in FOREVER because she was in JAIL and needed someone to bail her out. And prior to that she NEVER spoke to Wanda. She didn't even KNOW Wanda had Ovarian Cancer and didn't even go to Wanda's wedding. I'm sorry, but that's just not cool. At least Nina despite her potty mouth and bitchiness, actually CARES for other people like Wanda and Marty and Greg. And it seems illogical for me to dislike her as Nina has the same loud mouth, but I just don't like her. I feel like Dakota Cassidy just spliced together Wanda and Nina's personality, but not in a good way because she left out any redeeming qualities. She kind of comes off as frustrating as one second she thinks she needs to control her temper and the next she's already blowing a fuse with the only logical explanation being that she's half demonic. But overall she just comes off as rude. At least for Nina you get a glimpse of why she's such a bitch to people and yes Nina wallowed a lot, but she still CARED. With Nina, despite her sassiness, you can genuinely see that despite her words she really cares for Wanda and Marty and feels remorse for her mean words. Okay, yeah Nina can be a bitch, but at this point Casey just comes off as annoying. YES she is half demon and so she has two different personalities (her human and her demon), but like c'mon, at least give her a more like-able personality. I'll keep reading and hope that they all get along and her bitchiness will subside once she gains control.

Also so far the chemistry between her and Clayton is just really forced and kind of uncomfortable. There's so much sexual tension, but it's not the good kind. I don't want to say anything else about the topic because I'm just feeling a jumble of random emotions, but so far this couple just seems super forced. There's no spark between them. It's more like oh both seem to find each other very attractive and want to "boink." But again I didn't finish, so maybe this love blossoms later on in the book.

I'm going to keep reading, but judging from how long it's taking me to read the darned thing, (I finished each of the previous books within a few hours) I'm not sure if I can finish. I'm hoping Casey will be more likable later on in the book, but so far, not so much. I'll keep you updated.
