Wasn't sure what I was getting with this one. I knew I liked the image, but hadn't worked a puzzle by this brand before. The pieces are intricate, varied and well-shaped. There is no standard piece design in this puzzle. Some are small, some are very large and most are moderately sized. Had no problems with the layers in the pieces peeling or flaking. Except for one, due to the varied sizes, that can lead to false fits and when I removed that piece, it did peel up slightly. Glued it with Mod Podge when finished, and you can't notice.
Two of us took about 30 hours (working intermittently) from out of the box to completion on this one, not a tremendously difficult puzzle, overall. Not too bad, lots of trim and unique features on the outer borders, fill in the map outline, and then it's largely trial and error on the fewer remaining pieces, with plenty of gridwork and features to help you along. I would say this is an intermediate puzzle. Not good for youth that may easily give up, they'd have to really appreciate the subject matter to stick with it if you're buying as a gift. And if buying for yourself, if you like the image, you shouldn't let any other feature stop you from buying this puzzle.
