I bought this Acer computer because I knew that the price they were offering for this last generation AMD processor couldn't be beat. I am most satisfied with the performance of the gutts of the comptuer in itself (AMD A8 + Radeon). However, my experience with Acer has always been that they will cut corners pretty badly and this might cause you serious trouble. The last Acer I had lost one wierdly shapend key after one week of use and then after a month the volume rocker died. This brand new Acer's CD unit just stopped working the other day (it's had 3 weeks of use). As in dead. I was not surprised, and I will try to get it fixed through international warranty now that I've moved to Italy, but this will leave me without computer for at least a week and I guess it can wait, simply cus I don't use the CD. So if you absolutely need EVERYTHING that comes with your computer, like the CD, the webcam, the trackpad, etc, don't go with Acer. If you can forgoe some malfunctions over time, you might want to save the money of the price difference.
One extra thing, the trackpad is not great, it's wrongly sensitive: it will drag slowly, and instead will double click where you're not double clicking (oversensitive?).
Linux Users: Several problems: the last Ubuntu won't recognize the Wi-Fi device appropriately. Right now I'm awaiting some update cus it's just not managing to connect to the internet. Furthermore, the last generation of Radeon is not awesomely supported. It will work but when going out to a second screen with HDMI, it will be cookie to say the least. Ironically enough, the trackpad works much better on Ubuntu than it does on Windows 7.
