There I was, browsing in the record store a couple of days ago, looking for nothing in particular. And then I heard it, over the store's sound system - a solid drum intro, moody strings, a lot of texture and this soaring voice. I headed over to the clerk and asked what was playing, but she had no idea what it was - she just gestured to the 5 CD covers on the "now playing" rack.
After briefly considering picking all of them up, I eliminated 2 of them off the bat based on the artist, and 2 others on a hunch, and was left with this CD, which I picked up having no idea if it was the correct one. I left the store, immediately got the shrink wrap off the CD, and scanned the lyrics to find out - I'd made the right choice!
That song, the one I HAD to have, is "Dove Coloured Sky", featuring the vocals of one Jimmy Gnecco who I had never heard of before this point. It's the second track off of this amazing CD by Neverending White Lights, aka Daniel Victor plus guest vocalists.
When I got home, I cranked up the stereo and let this song wash over me. Then I played the whole album and it had the same effect.
Truly amazing. Buy this album - you will NOT be disappointed.
