Finding a compassionate woman therapist to help her, Zoe finally summons the courage to tell her torrid story, a tale of guilt and desire as shocking as it is compelling. From the sensitive artist with whom she spends stolen hours on rumpled sheets to the rough and violent man who draws her toward destruction,Zoe is a woman desperately searching for fulfillment -- and something darker, deeper, and perhaps deadly. As her life spins out of control and her sexual escapades carry her toward a dangerous choice, Zoe is racing against time to uncover the source of her "fatal attraction" -- as chilling secrets tumble forth from the recesses of a woman's mind, and perilous temptations lead toward a climax that can threaten her sanity, her marriage...and her life.

Zane is best in her class.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Addicted: A Novel (Paperback)
Let's remember (especially miss too-good from Paducah, Kentucky!) that we're not reading Shogun, or Mice and Men here. So you cannot rate them the same. Duh. For books falling in the class of fun, easy reading (a break from all the deeply complicated and overly serious dramas) Zane rates best in her class. "Addicted" was so good. It takes you for a different ride; fast, hot, and satisfying. After reading Ken Follet's, "The Pillars of the Earth," "Addicted" was like a huge caramel and hot fudge sundae instead of a big hearty meal.Plus, this is how we (black women) talk with one another. It doesn't make us idiots lacking some big troth of bigger vocabulary words. We speak this way when we are comfortable. We speak the so called "correct" English when we are in professional situations. Hence, black people are able to better relate to this book. I wouldn't recommend it to any one who doesn't have an open mind. I usually read historical epics, but I finished "Addicted" in less than two days. So it must have been something worth reading. Zane gets five stars from me for this category of reading. And like the first review says to all of those with negative comments, "stop hatin!"
