Great program. Little bit of a learning curve since my last version was CS3. Love what I see so far. Package arrived before the date stated

Certainly a worthwhile upgrade from CS4 May 18 2012

though I can't say whether it would be worthwhile if you are using CS5.5. I'm reviewing the Public Beta version, BTW, and I won't be upgrading from CS4 simply because it is far too expensive. Adobe needs to realise that students aren't the only people on low incomes.

Some of the main reasons to update to CS6 (especially from CS4) are that so many of the things that didn't work at all well in earlier versions of Photoshop work extremely well in the CS6 version. I clearly remember the days when brightness and contrast would NEVER be used by professional photographers. And neither professional photographers nor professional graphic designers would have used the burn and dodge tools, which now work brilliantly. The same goes for the auto tone, auto contrast and auto colour. The content-aware move tool is also quite impressive, though it doesn't work brilliantly for ALL images. The patch tool is a great improvement on that in CS4, though once again I can't say if this is the case against CS5.5. I probably haven't given Photoshop CS6 anywhere near the testing that professional photographers and graphic designers would, but I have to say it never gave me a moment's concern. Everything worked brilliantly. Most graphic designers and professional photographers will be using much faster machines than my (second-hand) 2008 8-core 2.88 Mac Pro (with 10GB RAM) on which Photoshop CS6 was still amazingly fast. I'm using OS 10.7.4, BTW.

I have (at least so far) only one serious disappointment to report (one that has been moaned about by other users, I would hasten to add): there are still no glyphs. I have had to resort to InDesign (CS4) though Illustrator would also do the trick, and then export the file as an EPS, open it in Photoshop and drag the layer onto my Photoshop document. It's so time-consuming and we shouldn't have to do it. If Adobe can supply the feature in both InDesign and Illustrator, why can't it be ported to Photoshop as well? I suppose there must be a valid reason; I can't imagine that Adobe just thought Photoshoppers wouldn't be interested.

While, as stated, I won't be upgrading, I'd like to thank Adobe for making their Beta version of Photoshop CS6 available for anyone to download and trial. It's been a real pleasure.

Now come on, all you professional Mac operators. To have only an amateur review here is just "not on"!

So far, so great... June 15 2013

Needed this as Adobe has gone to a subscription service; I often use programs like Photoshop for years at a time, and the monthly cost threatened to put it out of my reach. I'd rather have a hardcopy and recommend others buy it also.

I was researching the web and discovered Adobe was switching to a monthly subscription service for Photoshop. Discovered Photoshop CS6 was still available and submitted a purchase immediately. Received original unopened box and install on my MAC without any difficulty.

Works great Dec 19 2012

I'm using this on a 15" MacBook Pro Retina screen and have not had any problems with it. It installed fine and works great. To be honest, I'm just learning PhotoShop so I can't compare this version to previous versions, but I'm quite happy with the performance of this software.

Good luck using the Amazon downloader. I spent $675 on this product and have yet to get it installed. Amazon refuses to accept responsibility and sends me to Adobe to correct the problem. I've sent several hours now trying to correct the issue. (I have a super fast MacBook pro, running Lion, with 8GB of RAM, 250 GB on my hard drive, and premium internet. It's not my computer.) Will Amazon send me a disk? NO.
