The book is really easy to read and understand. It's got great visuals and step by step directions. I would definately recommend it for someone with a class or anyone who has an interest. It's a good book to add to a collection.

This is the book that got me through a considerable amount of first aid training and the like. I never actually went that direction medically, but first aid and CPR are still things every good citizen should know and I'm quite happy to have this book on hand. The information is all the good and basic stuff, and the book covers a broad range of topics--I feel very secure about finding what I need due to great organization. Another perk is the "extras" little charts, pictures, and photos that add so much life to the book.

I'm giving it four stars because I already have extensive medical knowledge. Taking a certification course requires one to give"textbook" answers and in this case, injured/ill people will not be textbook patients. I aced the course and some of the material in the book I found was misleading. It's not the wrong information, just different from what I would do. It was required for a course for my major, but eventually found that I didn't need it. It teaches basic CPR, wound treatments, poison, animal/insect/marine injures, etc. Lots of knowledge for someone looking to get basic treatment knowledge. I don't know if it can be used to study for the American Heart Associatons tests for CPR.
