Perfect!,
By
This review is from: Adventures of Tintin Complete Slipcase (Hardcover)
Having all of the books in a box set is perfect for me! Although the print is a tad small it's not so small that you cannot read the comics. I have already recommended it to several Tintin fans who want the entire series.

What is going on with the price of this collection?,

This review is from: Adventures of Tintin Complete Slipcase (Hardcover)
I own the video collection of this series. Each adventure is fantastic and very entertaining. I've been looking into buying the collectors edition of the books as listed here. What confuses me is the pricing here in the U.S. as compared with the same product in the U.K.The prices in the U.S. range from $285.99 to $499.00! Amazon U.K. lists the same product for less than $200 dollars (after converting from British Pounds to Dollars). Why is there such a huge price difference? On several other products, I had to order from another country after comparing the listed prices. I don't mind paying a few dollars more for an item listed here in the U.S. but when I see a difference of $100 to $300 dollars, I'm going to buy from the merchant that saves me such a huge difference in price. I realize that Amazon does not set the prices charged by third party sellers. With the Internet, it only takes minutes to search for a product and to research the prices being charged. I'm going to purchase this collectors edition but not in the U.S. as long as the prices remain so high. Update: I just purchased this collectors set from a U.S. bookseller for $125.00. It was listed on a popular auction site. During my search, I did find this exact set of books listed on other auctions for just under $300.00. |
