Misleading product info, and sooo not funny,
By
This review is from: Afhv:Looks At Kids & Anima (DVD)
First of all, Tom Bergeron is NOT on this DVD, even though the product info on Amazon says he is and Bergeron being listed on here was the main reason we bought this DVD... WOW do we feel misled and cheated. If we'd known who IS on the DVD, we wouldn't have opened the wrapper. The two shows on this DVD are from 1996, and Bob Saget (talentless hack that he is) is all over these shows. There are maybe one or two clips in between Saget's un-funny and very dated LONG comments. The shows are filled with cheap and creepy props and lame skits that make us wonder yet again how Saget ever got onto AFV in the first place. Most of the clips on both shows are just not funny (including some just plain cruel treatment of some animals -- several cats, a couple of dogs, and other critters), and Saget's caustic comments about women and children are appalling... not that his calling certain men 'Tubby', 'Tubb-o', and 'Lard-o' is anything to be proud of, nor should he be proud of making rude comments about chubby or overweight kids, 'at last, something this kid WON'T eat!' and 'wide load, comin' through, honk honk', as well as 'she can't dance... heck she can't even see her feet!' Do yourself a favour... give this DVD a miss. You won't miss this stinker. If there was a rating lower than one star, it'd get that rating instead. AFV: shame on you!!! And for anyone who doesn't like Tom Bergeron: at least he doesn't humiliate, degrade, and berate the people whose antics fund his paycheque, which is far more than can be said for low-brow troglodite Saget. Bergeron has class!

My daughter loves AFV so I bought Battle of the Best and Kids and Animals. Battle of the Best was much better. She watched it over and over, this one she watched only once.

I agree, the "commercial breaks" are annoying, along with the cheesy centaur jokes/hosting. I'd look for a newer dvd.

Some of the video clips are funny but the rest was like a train wreck. The video set-ups by Bob Sagat and his two "actors" seemed ad-libbed and forced. It was to the point of agony to get to the next group of videos. I don't see my wife and I ever watching it again. I only hope the other one I bought her is better. Of course we were so scarred from this one, we haven't watched it yet.
