laswell, dxt, dub scratch tastic,
By yajdubuddah "yajarod" (cheboygan, michigan usa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Aftermathematics Instrumental (Audio CD)
This a disk featuring Bill Laswell(bass), dxt(turntables, keyboards) and robert musso on most of the beats except sly dunbar on ghost dub. The music is unlike anything ive ever heard before from laswell/dxt. They sceem to creat this hip hop, dub, eastern feel. The sounds of the record are turntables, bass, guitarotron, eastern santuri, keyboards, programing, electrohop drum beats. Each song is alive no total ambience here, all beated. Ime not a big turntable fan but dxt is one of the best, way better than dj disk. Dxt has been going through an eastern feel as of latelly. With the asana 3's (ive got a passion) and now this, i cant wait to see what he will do next. Ive almost certain this is the same dxt as the future shock herbie hancock song with laswell. Good tunes never die

This a disk featuring Bill Laswell(bass), dxt(turntables, keyboards) Skiz Fernando and robert musso on most of the beats except sly dunbar on ghost dub. The music is unlike anything ive ever heard before from laswell/dxt. They sceem to create this hip hop, dub, eastern feel with no vocals. The sounds of the record are turntables, bass, guitarotron, eastern santoor ( a dulcimer type instrument)prob. sampled, keyboards, programing, electrohop drum beats. Each song is alive no total ambience here, all beated. Im not a big turntable fan but dxt is one of the best, no just diskin but samplin and cuttin sounds left & right, way better than dj disk. Dxt has been going through an eastern feel as of scense mid 90'S. With the asana 3's (ive got a passion song) his elixir hegalien zone album with jp sluys, sassan, laswell and guest vocals on 3 by last poet umar bin hassan, the song from the reanimator comp also featuring laswell on bass and now this, i cant wait to see what he will do next. this is the same dxt(aka grandmixer dst)that cut it up with laswell on the gramy aword winning album future shock by herbie hancock. they cut pretty much all the music and herbie took over and dubbed him self in. Good tunes never die
