Although some script changes are about as "unagathy" as it gets, these are still very good movies and a must have to every avid Agatha Christie fan. The Marple Series adaptations are very high in quality, well casted and acted - the generous budget clearly shows. Geraldine McEwan is just as I imagined Marple to be, I love Joan Hickson as Marple - but Geraldine has to be my favourite!This Particular box set comprises the first 3 seasons of the series. It is a way better buy than the individual sets. It has an hour-long backstage feature with cast and crew interviews, behind-the scene featurettes, photo galleries, AC biography and cast filomgrapies as well as the following episodes: Season 1 - The body in the library, The murder at the Vicarage, 4;50 from Paddington, A murder is announced. Season 2 - Sleeping murder, The moving finger, By the pricking of my thumbs, The Sittaford mystery. Season 3 - At Bertram's hotel, Ordeal by Innocence, Towards Zero, Nemesis. The Agatha readers know that "By the pricking of my thumbs", "the sittaford mystery", "ordeal by innocence" and "towards zero" are not original Marples, but the screen writers blended her in masterfully. The lack of subtitles kept me from giving that extra star.

We have really enjoyed watching these DVDs. Well done, with great actors in all the roles. In my opinion Geraldine McEwan is one of the best actresses to play Miss Marple. The locations are also really beautiful. Only problem is that we have nearly watched them all already. If only they had made more....

We have really enjoyed these series of "Miss Marple". It seems to me that when there is nothing on TV that would be worth watching for the evening, I am always glad that I can fall back on her to entertain me! Agatha Christie has given us much pleasure to watch over and over again and never get sick of. If you find that too, maybe this would be a good investment for you too.
