This review is from: Age of Empires: The Age of Kings (Video Game)
They really shouldn't have placed this under the "Age of empires" umbrella, aside from the scarce low-quality sounds and a few of the graphics, it is nothing like age of empires. It still however manages to be one of the leading games in the DS library.A small flaw I found is with two-player. If you're playing with a friend using two cartridges on seperate DS systems, the game will eventually freeze halfway through. It almost seems like they never even tested the game! Oh well. You can play hot-seat using one DS.

Age of Kings is a really well done turn based strategy games. It's turn based, easy to grasp the basic but hard to master. There is many options and enough things to do to create enough action and at the end of every "turn" an awesome addiction. The setting for each "kings" changes and the scenario for each mission evolve with new surprises and twist. The production value is high, the music and the graphic are well done and the AI is challenging. Highly recommended for fan of strategy games.

This review is from: Age of Empires: The Age of Kings (Video Game)
I've had this game for just over a week, and have found it extremely fun to play.Unfortunately I haven't played any of the PC Age of Empire games (yet), so I can't make any first-person comparisons. Age of Empires for DS has one flaw that, if you are unaware of it beforehand, can be very annoying. For some reason, if your profile name is less than four characters (i.e. "Bob" or "San"), on starting up the game the next time you want to play, you get a blank screen. To avoid this, you can change your name in your DS profile, or else change it in the game. Other than that problem, which hasn't come up again for me (I exchanged the first copy), the game is great! It's an excellent choice for somebody looking for a Civ-style simulation game for the DS.
