Brilliant and Fun!, July 26 2011
This review is from: Aigaion Girl (Paperback)
I found this a wonderful mixture with beautiful prose, carefree slang, clever cynicism and innocent truth. It's written in multiple voices in a way that lets you get to know the characters personally. I actually laughed out loud, and shed a tear or two while reading this - who knew the end of the world would turn out to be so much fun?

Like Nothing I've Ever Read, May 17 2010
This review is from: Aigaion Girl (Paperback)
Aigaion Girl is completely different from anything I've ever read before. It tells the story of Apple, a girl who is half-human, half-demon and has grown up as an outsider because of her demon heritage. Apple's feelings of separation lead her to become a self-imposed loner and when she starts to notice the signs of the biblical apocalypse, she almost doesn't do anything about it. Apple eventually joins forces with an angel named Camael to put an end to the end of the world before it's too late.
It's a nice, short read that is simultaneously cynical, sensitive and humorous and it's unique. I love the characters' different perspectives, how each character tells things in their own way and their own voice and how their individual stories come together to make one cohesive piece.
Even though it's not full of crazy plot twists, there is absolutely nothing predictable about this story. You never quite know where the story is going or what's going to happen next, but you're always eager to find out.
