Product Description

If a pig can herd sheep, then the field is wide open for animals with unusual talents, and not just on Letterman's Late Show, either. Buddy, the golden retriever who made an unexpected hit in the initial Air Bud (1997), shows just how far you can stretch one joke over the course of two movies. Which isn't as far as the makers hoped, unfortunately. While the first film--about a performing dog who runs away from an abusive clown, befriends a lonely boy, and becomes a basketball star--had its charms, this one pushes the gag to the limit. This time, Buddy the dog learns to play football, even as he foils a plan by an international group of thieves to steal animals and start their own zoo. This is one that will hold the kids' attention while the adults do something else, at ease in the knowledge that their children are watching an innocuously entertaining movie. --Marshall Fine

Product Description

The creators of the original AIR BUD score once again with this all-new, hilarious heartwarming hit! This time out, Buddy, the hoop-shooting, hotshot canine, tackles a new sport -- football. When his teenage owner reluctantly becomes the school's new quarterback, Buddy catches the spirit and joins the team. Soon, the two find themselves leading the Timberwolves to the state championship. But victory hopes are sidelined when two sinister Russian circus owners take a bite out of everyone's plans and dognap Buddy for their star attraction. So give three cheers for Disney's AIR BUD: GOLDEN RECEIVER. Full of outrageous fun and adventure, it goes the whole nine yards for family fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Air Bud Golden Receiver Feb. 4 2010
The Air Bud and Ayr Buddies movies are my grandchildren's favorite movies. We have purchased all the Bud and Buddie CDs and they love to watch them all.
The three year old likes Snow Buddies and the five year old likes the Air Bud movies especially the Spikes Back one - it is great having videos that are enjoyed by our grandchildren.
Any Air Bud or Air Buddies movies are highly recommended by this grandmother.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Kids Movie April 16 2004
Its an excellent kids movie, I bought a copy for my niece & nephew, it always helps to have these animal centered storylines but child actor (no longer a kid) Kevin Zegers also shows why he has become such an up and coming star. This edition of the Bud series is also probably the best of the lot with The World Cup movie a close second.

5.0 out of 5 stars AIR BUD - Greatest of All March 25 2004
Not many sequels are a good as the first, but this is an exception. When Bud appears in his uniform you react much like if the band just started with a John Philip Sousa march. Bud makes you swell with good feelings. Like the first movie, the dog shots are real and not just special effects. You do not need to like football to be cheering. I find the only time ball games are a good spectator sport is when Air Bud is starring. But then I have a couple of golden retrievers and 10 other dogs. You don't need kids to love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love This movie! Aug. 10 2002
By A Customer
Buddy is a golden retriever who likes basketball. Now, he's back in football. In the end of the movie, there's a song I love it's called "One Moment." I love that song so much. I hope you get this movie and like it, too! It's a really good song!

5.0 out of 5 stars Air Bud Golden Receiver July 17 2002
Every bit as good as the original Air Bud. The Golden stand-ins did an excellent job for the original Buddy who crossed the Rainbow Bridge since the first film was made. A must see for anyone who has had a Golden in their life or likes the breed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!! July 30 2001
I really liked this movie. One reason it was so good, was that the movie is about football, but it also has the whole other story with Josh's mom dating Patrick, and the circus people, although that part was a little boring. All the actors did a great job, it's a great movie!

2.0 out of 5 stars A little better than than the first. May 25 2001
Air Bud 2: Golden Receiver opens when Josh Frammn (Kevin Zegers) is playing basketball with Buddy. But he is late. His mom, named Jackie (Cynthia Stevenson) is taking him and his kid sister to the basketball finals.
Buddy wants to come too. But Josh doesn't let him. So Buddy sneaks into the family van. He's just a dog, he doesn't understand people.
And Buddy shows up on the basketball court and makes a basket. What I didn't mention in the review of Air Bud, is that Josh's father, a test pilot was killed in a plane crash.
School is starting soon for Josh. And I think he is entering high school. Josh's mother starts dating again. And soon her new love is the local veterinarian, named Patrick Sullivan (Gregory Harrison). Josh doesn't like this. So he tries out of the school's football team.
And makes the team. On the day of the first game, the coach named Fanelli (Robert Costanzo) is told that either the football team will be dropped, or he will be fired if the team doesn't have a winning season.
Fanelli was the school's coach for 14 years. And hasn't had a winning season in 10 years. Buddy the dog who made lots of baskets in the first movie, died after the movie wrapped up. And so the studio got another dog that looks like the first dog. If you like football, then check out Remember the Titans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five stars! June 25 2000
By esther
This is the sequel to the movie Air Bud. In this one, the talented dog Buddy who plays basketball falls in love with football. When his owner Josh Framm's (played by THE Kevin Zegers) mother starts dating, Josh goes out for the football team in order to avoid Patrick, his mother's boyfriend. Josh discovers Buddy's talent for football and Buddy is made as a part of the team. Josh's team makes it to the state finals but before the game Buddy is dognapped by an evil Russian duo who take him for their "main attraction" at their circus. Patrick brings Buddy back just in time and Josh learns that it's possible to love to fathers at the same time. This movie is funny, cool, and Kevin Zegers is one awesome actor (he's cute too! ). I strongly recommend this movie for anyone.
