Adjustable Height Lets Stilts Grow with Your Child
The Ready Set Stilts are designed to be worn by growing children and feature an extra extendable tube that can be secured in increments as your child grows taller. To make the stilts taller, use the small retractable metal knobs at the base of the extendable tube. These knobs fit into measured openings in the bottom tube, allowing for easy, secure adjustment. Soft grip handles are also adjustable along the stilts, and are easy to move with the included Allen wrench.
Two Sets of Feet Allow for Beginning and Advanced Levels
As your child grows up, his or her stilt walking skills will also improve, and the Ready Set Stilts allow for this with two sets of feet. The beginner set is designed with a wide, tubular base for additional support with balance. Either side of the tube is outfitted with a non-stick foot pad to prevent the stilts from sliding.
The advanced set is a single non-stick foot pad on the end of either stilt, removing the extra balance support but still preventing the stilts from sliding. Both sets of feet are easy to attach and remove with the included tools. In addition, both the beginner and advanced stilt sets include non-slip footrests to keep stilt walkers weighing up to 110 pounds safe. Remember to always wear protective gear, including a helmet!

Good training stilts

I own Geospace Walkaroo Stilts by Air Kicks - Light Weight; but it's too big for my 7 year-old daughter, and my son feels too unbalanced on it. I thought the Alex stilts design might be a good training stilt.
The bottom bar attaches to provide more stability to the kids. My daughter was up and walking on it in no time. The only problem with it is the stilts go behind her shoulder forcing her to bend forward when walking. (Look at the Amazon images closely. The kids are all hunched forward.) The Walkaroo stilts bend under the armpits, allowing walkers to stand more upright.
Once my daughter gets the hang of it, I can take off the bottom bars to make regular stilts. The handgrips can also be removed to make traditional stilts. Height from the ground and length of the poles are adjustable.
This is a very good training stilt. If the top of the stilt bent like Walkaroos, it would be perfect.

UPDATE: I took both sets of stilts to a Cub Scout pack meeting in a park. They were a hit. Apparently, leaning forward isn't too much of a problem. The kids don't seem to mind it.

I have a son who just turned 5, though is the size of a 7 year old, as well as a 9 year old daughter. Both were extremely excited when I opened up the shipping box and they saw this inside. We had gotten my daughter a pair of stilts a couple of years ago for her birthday. Well, her brother has been trying with all of his might to get them to work. However, with these Ready Set Stilts, he got on and off he went.
To begin with, we just kept the basic legs on and they both tried it out. Both had great luck getting on and staying on them for a bit. Then we switched over and I put the balancing legs on and it gave the stilts just enough of a balance that my son was able to hop on and walk all over the house. He even likes to get on, balance and do a bit of a dance jive on them, lol. Needless to say, he loves them and my daughter enjoys them as well.
The Ready Set Stilts come in a long box and the only thing that needs to be put together are the handles - they screw in quick and easily. Also, they come with the standard stilt legs on them, so you do have to pull off the rubber bottoms and screw in the balancing part of the legs. I had a bit of trouble, at first, getting the rubber grips off. However, I finally gave them a bit of a twist and used some muscle and they both twisted off fairly easily. These stilts are adjustable to grow as the child grows taller, which is awesome. The material used to make these also appear to be very strong, heavy duty and should withstand a lot of hard play. I am very pleased with these stilts and think that they are an incredible buy for the price. Highly recommend!
