When i was little, my mother used to buy me paper dolls. We didn't have much money so she would find these economic ways of giving us all the toys she possibly could. She wanted us to have whatever we desired. We had to use our imagination a lot.
But in that glittering world she made for us we wanted for nothing else. She would drag large pieces of foam core home from the city. These things that had been tossed out of the Warner Bros Building (old posters) and we made elaborate condos, forts, mini golf courses, homes. And when she bought me paper dolls I always freaked out with joy and start building a world for them. I would dress them up over and over, they go out to all the fashionable clubs, i 'd cut my own fashions out for them...
It was wonderful, so I jumped with delight when i saw these paper dolls now so many years later.. with fashions by one of my biggest inspirations in fashion and high art. He was truly and artistic genius and much too sensitive to live in the world that surrounded him.
These are beautiful representations and so meticulously copied a must have for every McQueen fan.
