Mixed up blessings April 1 2011
By Collis Huntington - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
My hardest academic subject is math. This college algebra book has me scrambling for answers to the math problems. One reason for this is that there is not enough examples to show how all the problems are done. I can try to do an algebra problem, at times, I cannot find the solution in the examples they give in the book. In addition, they show examples and the examples are not complete. They seem to make the assumption in the examples that the student reader of their book knows some obvious math steps so the authors do not show how to do the steps. It might be obvious to the authors but as a student I find missing steps very annoying. When doing the algebra problems there are a few problems where a student has to guess how the authors want the answers to the problems. I get the feeling that the book is made so the students who have difficulty with math will depend more on the instructor or teacher then the book. It can make a student feel like they only tested the "Algerbra for College students" book with students who are good at math. I may be able to learn from this book but the authors do not make it easy.

This book was ordered as part of a bundle of textbooks needed for the Fall 2012 semester. The books arrived within two days due to my Amazon Prime subscription, and were in brand new condition. I am very satisfied with my order and all of the products have been very useful in my classes this semester. I will continue to buy books from Amazon in the future!
